Maya "Mia" Moore
I believe so, Moore has been the catalysts of the mythical run of Uconn Huskies. I also look forward to Moore playing in Europe during the WNBA off-season and perhaps a slot on Team USA as her name I believe is still on the player pool for London 2012 Olympic Basketball.
Definitely one of the best WNCAA players.Sacramento Kings

Maya Moore triumphed getting 38 out of 40 sportwriters votes, while Danielle Adams (2nd Round draft and #20 overall) got 2.
Moore becomes the 4th straight #1 selection getting the RoY honors (after Tina Charles 2010, Angel McCoughtry 2009 and Candace Parker 2008).
The All Rookie team, which is selected by WNBA coaches, is headed by Maya Moore and surprising Danielle Robinson (11 votes), Courtney Vandersloot (10), Danielle Adams and Elizabeth Cambage (9).

Since 2 NCAA titles, 1 WNBA title and 1 Euroleague title at the age of 23 apparently aren't enough, Moore will pursue another title in another continent:
Actually, forget twitter. 10 days after she joined the Chinese weibo, her followers there have already surpassed the # she has on twitter. Not that it means that a lot of people in China watch the WCBA, very few people do. It's just that the team, Shanxi is a new entry to the league, the owner is a basketball nut, and the basketball fans there are damn crazy and passionate.
The 2nd pick of the 2011 WNBA draft, Liz Cambage, will also play in the WCBA this season for ridiculous (for women's hoops) $100,000/month. Maybe these high profile signings will get some people to watch the league, but I also have doubts whether the money spent is sustainable. I remember back in 2005 or so, the Korean league had Lauren Jackson, Tamika Catchings and some other names but the following years the teams immediately voted to eliminate imports altogether. Hope that doesn't happen in China.aim low, score high

I don't know women's sports enough to know whether Maya Moore's Chinese team, Shanxi Flame, will be the most invested women's club in the world, but this owner has already spent more than a million USD since buying this franchise earlier this year, and that doesn't include salaries yet. Spanish NT head coach Lucas Mondelo will be the head coach, another Spanish head coach Cesar Ruperez will be the assistant, they have an American strength and conditioning coach and maybe even an American video editor, all of which unheard of in WCBA. In addition to Moore, they got Korean ex-WNBA player Jung Sun-min to come out from retirement to play. The GM of the Fujian (CBA) club left to take the position for this women's club. Got a legendary coach to come out of retirement to coach the junior team. Also a couple very good Chinese players.
There's no way this dude will even make 1/100 of the money he spent, but hey I don't object to crazy spending by rich guys, especially since Chinese women's bball seems to be at an all-time low in history. Also Tamika Catchings will play in China this year, hope this league can get a little more interest. But I wonder whether he has the patience to keep on investing, just a 1 or 2 year thing will have no effect on Chinese women's basketball. There needs to be long-term sustained investment for young girls to see that there is money to be made in professional league, to progress the sport. So far most WCBA athletes make only more than waitresses and probably less than prostitutes, it's sad.Last edited by sinobball; 07-24-2012, 06:12 AM.aim low, score high
