Maccabi Tel Aviv bball club was formed in 1932. The Israeli bball league was only formed in 1954, with MTA being its first (and constant...) champion. Till then Maccabi played mostly abroad (including Arab countries).

Maccabi Tel Aviv is actually a sports club formed in 1906 (having all kinds of sports teams like soccer, bball, volleyball etc.)
Basically all sports teams in Israel were formed as sports clubs who belonged to "centers", affiliated with political organizations (Maccabi, Hapoel, Beitar, Elitzur...). The Maccabi center was affiliated with the liberal party. Nowadays most of the sports clubs are privately held, but these "centers" still have some effect on the various sport associations (usually negative...).

According to Lietuvos Rytas internet site, Vilnius club was formed in 1997.

It was formed on the ruins of "Statyba" basketball club, which was formed waaay earlier (cant find the exact year of formation).
