AZERBAIJAN - Araz. By the way, the current coach of "Lietuvos Rytas" Rimas Kurtinaitis some time ago coached another Azerbaijan's team "Gala" and during that time it was the best club of this country, which also played in Europe. Kurtinaitis’s main task was National team of the country, which had to play in qualifies of EC, but he thought, that they weren’t ready for it. Rimas also had some work in Lithuania. Sponsors didn’t like it and Kurtinaitis wasn’t resigned. It seems, there is no interest in basketball now. There are also some political reasons as well, but it’s not the right place to speak about it.

Thanks Dreamcatcher, one more down :p
I know that there have been some major problems with basketball in Azerbaijan, even powerhouse NTD Devon started playing in the Georgian league.
If you want to start a thread in the UN section about the issue feel free, I'm sure it'll be interesting.

actually in Ukraine it was two champions: superleague and UBL

UBL wasn't confirmed by FIBA, so it wasn't an official league. Azovmash is a right team to this thread.

Yes, that was the criterion.

Was Kosovo confirmed by FIBA?
I'm asking because I don't know, not because I wanna start a flame war...

I really don't know either... Just saw they had a national champion and decided to put it there.

Many thanks Migelitas!

UN does not recognize Kosovo, FIBA either.

Players from Kosovo are considered by FIBA as serbian players. For instance, Gezim Morina and Erjon Kastrioti (both member of Olimpija Ljubljana) are listed as Serbians. :D
