Both France and Greece are overated. They both palyed terrible in European Championship. They were very lucky in Belgrade. I bet you guys that none of them will reach semi finals.

Explain me please, how the hell both teams played bad in EC? Greece was European Champion and France came up third?

Germany has already been classified as overrated by some in the forum, now France and Greece too? By those standards I feel at ease to say that the US is THE overrated team

              nice joke!
i can understand when someone is saying that he doesn't like the style of play that a team plays.but when because of that he is saying that this team is overated then he must be out of his mind.
even if i am greek i am one those saying that i prefer the style of play that lithuanians have and not greeks.but i know that in what they are playing the greeks are the best in the world.defense that kills every team!they do it great why change it!that is not my prefered style of play but with that last year greece came first in belgrade.

I don't really agree with this or with what rchos said about Greece playing not attractive basketball. The greek team actually has great ball movement with players running around all the time to get the ball and the point guards (Diamantidis, Papaloukas, Spanoulis) are all very creative.
Sometimes the team does play slower but that is more a result of the players being nervous and I don't think that will happen again now that this generation of players has won something.

Also, I'm sorry for Parker because he's a good player and a classy guy.

Going back to the topic at hand, I don't think the loss of Parker to France will affect them in the same magnitude that, for example, a Nowitzki or a Yao Ming is lost to Germany or China respectively.

The biggest loss will be on the marketing side, because let's face it, Tony Parker is a very marketable guy and is defintely the face of French basketball. I hope he re-joins his teammates even on the sidelines soon. Anyway, his injury can be managed even outside the US.
