A quality player. I could imagine him being a late 2nd round like Manu back in 1999. According to Draft Express and I would also agree he's style of play is very similar to Manu. Hopefully, he could turn out to be as successful as Manu.
May make the Australian A-grade Team for the World Championships in Japan however, he will have stiff competition in terms of playing time against veterans such as former import for Cibona Zagreb's Jason Smith or former NBA Draft Pick CJ Bruton (who'll be heading off to the US for individual workouts with NBA teams Portland Trailblazers, Cleveland Cavaliers etc.) and former NCAA Div II Player of the Year (2005) Mark Worthington. This was evident during the Semi Final game of the Commonwealth Games vs England and in the Gold Medal game against the Tall Blacks (New Zealand) as he was in the starting lineup however, he had to fight and earn his time on the court.

Townsville Crocodiles star Brad Newley has been rated among the top 15 prospects at shooting guard for the upcoming 2006 NBA Draft by respected sports website ESPN.com.
Newley, who has indicated that he intends to nominate for the June Draft, was rated as the 14th best shooting guard in the 2006 Draft.
He was also rated as the 64th overall prospect by renowned sports writer Chad Ford on the ESPN website.
Ford rated Newley as a chance to be picked up in the second round of the Draft and tabbed him as the third-best international player at the shooting guard position behind only Rudy Fernandez from Spain and Israel’s Yotam Halperin.
Newley’s agent has reportedly arranged several private individual workouts with different NBA teams to allow the Crocs guard to showcase his skills and move up in the Draft.
Each year, 60 of the world’s best young players are selected in the NBA Draft with each team receiving two picks. Only the first round picks receive a guaranteed contract from the team that selects them.
