X upsets USA???

thats more important how well you've become as a team, and this "B" team shown me more prospect than the superstars including "A" team before. Considering that the A team won Gold at the tougher olympics where better international players participate by an average over 20+ points, how do you figure that the B team is better considering their struggles against BRazil and a weakened Spain?

Without Hubris they would have even much better record.

They lost because they went against their style of play.

Still, Brazil is as arrogant in soccer as Amerians are in basketball, but everyone loves the Brazilians and not the Americans. That was the main point, the constant bitterness against "American arrogance" when other countries exhibit the same attitude with similar success and don't get nearly the crap we do for it.

Get real, no team will upset Team USA this WC, even not Turkey, who has the best chances, though.

You know what, instead of half-assed prophecizing you could try at least SOME analyzing.
Yes, USA may win gold, they are, after all, the favourites, however it is not written and if it was, it certainly wouldn't be written by you. So "get real" yourself.

There's at least three factors working against the U.S. basketball team getting much fan support elsewhere.

1. Every single player on the U.S. team earns a salary far exceeding the total salaries of all the players on most other teams.

2. The U.S. has a huge population compared with most of the other countries competing in this tournament. For example, Lithuania has a population of only 3.5MM while Slovenia has a population of 2.0MM.

3. The players on the U.S. team all too often reinforce the stereotype of Americans knowing little of the world outside their own country's borders and caring even less that they know so little.

These factors don't militate against Canada's hockey team to nearly the same extent in the minds of the international community.

It's hard for people to come to terms with the fact that any FIBA sponsored competition will never be as big as the NBA.

The World Championship is mere childs play for the USA national team. The Olympics is what matters and everyone knows it. Rose and Durant are the only two players on this team that will probably be on the USA national team that arrives in London in 2012, yet they're undefeated and on their way to the championship. That rubs some people wrong.

Well at this point you have to say that Lithuania has a decent chance of pulling off an upset. I hope the American team comes into the game with a touch of intensity sapping overconfidence.

Well thank you for feeling sorry, that's nice! Most of posts here, however, include all kinds of funny words you could learn, for example: "may" "might" "most probably" "maybe". "Get real" sounds something a douchebag would say, so I chose to dumbly attack your opinion, and if I was wrong and you are not a douchebag, I am deeply deeply sorry :).
To be clear, I don't mean to be rude and I don't want to start any flame wars, but your tone is quite annoying so you get what you get.
