Also, the federation have reached out and are in discussion with former Minnesota Lynx (WNBA) player, Amber Harris to suit up as the naturalized player for the team. Harris played for Samsung Life Bichumi last season.

Japan and China will both send "B" teams to Asian Games and "A" teams to the concurrent World Championships. South Korea is probably the only country in the world that cares THAT much about the Asian Games (e.g. Korean men are exempt from conscription requirements if they win gold in AG, but not when they win any world championship not named Olympics, like World Cup.) Come to think of it, maybe North Korea too, their basketball players only show up during the AG for as long as I could remember.

How true, Korea for the matter places more importance with the Asian Games historically over other international competitions. Korea is planning to send a Team B for the FIBA World Cup.

Moving over, is it true that Chen Nan has retired from the national team?

KBA has announced the tentative final 12 for South Korea:

Lee Mi Sun
Park Hye-Jin
Choi Yoon-Ah
Byeon Yeon-Ha
Im Young-Hee
Kim Danbi
Kim Jung-Eun
Kwak Joo-Young
Shin Jeong-Ja
Yang Ji-Hee
Kang Young-Suk
Ha Eun-Ju

Players from the pool who did not make the cut and some college players will be considered for the national team B that will play in the FIBA World Cup.

Head coach: Masato Ogasawara

Oldest is Suwa at 28 years of age. JX Eneos has five players in this one but they are considered role players but will help nonetheless. Aishin's Evelyn Mawuri is a very good prospect. Head coach Masato Ogasawara entertained questions from the press and when asked why Mawuri is not on the Team A bound for FIBA World Cup, Ogasawara just said that her time will come and much like her younger sister who will play for the U18 women's national team.

South Korea women's training schedule revealed:

May 12 - Pyeongchang JDI Center - Start of training camp
May 26 to June 28 - Jincheon National Training Center - Second Training Camp / Practice Matches
June 28 to July 28 - Jincheon National Training Center - Third Training Camp / Practice Matches
July 28 to August 30 - Czech Republic - Exhibition matches vs. Czech Republic, Serbia, Australia, Canada

i really don`t understand the Date of this Asian Games. This Games taking place within the FIBA World Champs, as well as within the FIVB Volleyball World Championchips.

What happened in the heads of the organisers, to choose this "stupid" Period, althought they have had a lot of time to postponed the Games 2 weeks later:confused:

Amber Harris has arrived in Korea from Hawaii and will be undergoing a medical test. KBA said that they will expedite the process of naturalization for her.

Today, the KBA admitted that Amber Harris will not be able to join the national team in the Asian Games. Citing the three year residential rule for naturalized citizens pointed out by the Olympic Council of Asia. Still, Harris will be naturalized for next year's FIBA Asia women's tournament for the chance to play in the Rio Olympics.

Chinese Taipei national team is currently in South Korea to train. They lost recently to the WKBL team Samsung Life and three more exhibition games this week against other WKBL teams: Shinhan Bank, One FX and KB Stars. The team is composed of last year's 2013 roster lead by Liu Chun-Yi.

Japanese women's national team narrowed down prior to the JX-Eneos exhibition that will see the Asian Games Japanese team against Australia, Mozambique and the World cup bound Japanese team.

Yes.

S.korea focuses on Asian game.
* Asian Game → ‘A’ team
* FIBA World Cup, FIBA World Championship → ‘B’ team

Because ’Gold medalist in the Asian Games’ is exempt from military duty.

* Only, Olympic (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Asian Game (Gold) are exempt from military duty.

Also, according to the point, athlete receives a monthly pension of money from the government.

Choi Yoon-Ah's persistent knee problems can no longer continue so Lee Yeong-Eun was called in. Lee was a member of the 2010 world championship. So the Korean team is currently:

Lee Mi Sun
Park Hye-Jin
Lee Yeong-Eun
Byeon Yeon-Ha
Im Young-Hee
Kim Danbi
Kim Jung-Eun
Kwak Joo-Young
Shin Jeong-Ja
Yang Ji-Hee
Kang Young-Suk
Ha Eun-Ju

Yuki Ikeya is injured and will be replaced by Rui Kato. Kato played in the women's Jones Cup last month with her WJBL team, Denso Iris.

I applaud the conviction of the Qatar team in forfeiting their match as they were asked to remove the Hijab. Qatar will file a protest to OCA according to Korean news.

Nepal wins the match against Qatar via forfeit, 20-0.

While Mongolia's defense for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter proved to be too much for Kazakhstan. Mongolia wins 79-53.

It's scary as hell to think that Korea beat Mongolia by 83 points, while Mongolia beat Kazakhstan by a much larger margin (26 points) than China "B" did (14 points). Is China "B" really THAT bad?

I REALLY enjoy watching Kim Danbi and Kim Jung-Eun play for the national team. They will be the leaders next year as Shin Jeong-Ja, Lee Mi-Sun and Byeon Yeon-Ha are retiring from the national team.
