NBA 2K12's release date hasn't even been announced yet (expect the game to drop in early October), but we're already wondering who will grace the cover. Making the NBA 2K12 cover is sort of like being voted MVP of hoops video games. So who should be on the cover? Now's your chance to have your say.

Below are IGN's unofficial nominees for NBA 2K12 cover athlete. While we can't tell 2K Sports what to do, your voice can be heard loud and clear. Speak loudly enough and perhaps 2K Sports will take notice.

Tweet your choice and then vote in our poll below. We'll make sure 2K sees the final results and your pick for the NBA 2K12 cover.

If Derrick Rose wins MVP, I don't see how you can't put him on there.

Blake Griffin. The last time a forward became the cover boy / poster boy for the 2K franchise was back in 2009 for NBA 2K9 where Kevin Garnett was featured.

For the NBA Elite 12 franchise, I would vote for LeBron James.

Good ?

Any player listed from the east, with a chip winner from east gaining the clear edge.

The Jordan cover looks incorrect, as the '3' of his jersey number is on the left, making you think MJ's number is in the thirties (30's):
