With Billionaire Micky Arison as the HEAT owner, Wade, James and Bosh on paper, would look like they are getting less $$$ but there are no rules against getting shares and bonuses (as well as undisclosed wire-bank transfers to the accounts of the said players.)

its so conspiracy theorist style, do you read a lot of dan brown or tom clancy books by any chance?

so the team to watch for next season is now Miami. i wonder who will surround the big trio given the very limited cap space they have right now.

my prediction is, if these three will not win a championship in the next 3 years, one of them for sure will demand for a trade.

And don't forget that Pat Riley is aching to return to coaching. He likes to handle a superstar-laden team, just like what he has done to 1980's Lakers, 1990's New York Knicks and mid-2000's Miami Heat.

I had a feeling that Lebron would walk out on the Cavs. (I just never expected it to be Miami until Bosh and Wade indicated that they would be joining the Heat next season).
Let's see if Miami can bring the best supporting for the incredible trio with the limited salary cap available. Pat Riley so far seems to know what he's doing with the team.

how come no one considers miami?
Wade is there...they can get bosh along with lebron..
No question about riley's competitiveness.
Great city, warm weather, no state taxes..

It's better than ny

so i guess i'm nostradamus now!

Lebron to Miami

Lebron to Miami

The World is talking about it and interbasket doesn't have a thread about it?

i guess you don't love your basketball ;)

How many of you are Miami Heat fans now? I want to laugh at you for your fairweatherness.

i am not a fan of heat, my loyalty still belong to the lakers in west with thunder and kings, i love young teams, and in the east my team will be the bulls with nets as my underdog..how about you guys??

Lots of them bandwagon fans now. But how can you really blame them ? ;)

Also, there are "player fans" and there are "team fans" :)

i am still undecided if i shall hate or love this new powerhouse team (Up until the point my favorite player/s Jason Williams decide to play there; or Steven Nash for some reason ends up there :)

*And oh sorry for starting a new thread, it just s^cks that thread titles can not be edited here on IBN that i missed the Lebron discussion in the latter part of this thread.

Cavs legend Austin Carr dumps on LeBron:
Cavs Unveil New Uniforms in Post-LeBron Era - By TOM WITHERS, AP Sports Writer, August 18, 2010

Austin Carr fondly remembers his glory days playing guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1970s....

“We were 12 men deep,” Carr said as he helped the Cavs unveil new uniforms for 2010-11. “You knew every night we were going to play 100 percent. Nobody was going to quit.”

Realizing he had taken a shot at former Cavaliers’ star LeBron James, Carr raised his eyebrows and shrugged his shoulders.

At this point, what else can be said?

....The Cavs insist they are trying to move on, but James was again in the news being quoted in an upcoming GQ interview that he feels Gilbert never cared about him and his hatred for Cleveland dates back to his days as a kid growing up in Akron.

Carr, who was the league’s No. 1 overall draft pick in 1971 and Cleveland’s first bona fide hoops star, remains disappointed in James’ departure. The two-time MVP announced his decision in a prime-time TV special, breaking the hearts of his biggest fans.

“As an ex-player, I might have left myself,” said Carr, a color analyst for the team. “So I don’t begrudge him for that. But the way he did it was unprofessional and uncalled for.”

...Although it seems the Cavs are trying to move on, James’ magazine interview has reopened the issue. He’s the one who can’t seem to let things go.

“That’s his problem,” said Carr, who cried unashamedly the night the Cavs won the NBA draft lottery and the rights to draft James. “Not ours.”

okay, Lebron isn't my favorite person at the moment, but that was a cool commercial :p

Nice take that at Barkley.

We never know where would lebron be in the future. maybe he'll stick with wade and bosh or go to another team. I really love lebron plays and surely he'll have a championship ring someday.:D

I have to say that I have lost all respect for Lebron now. He could've been a man and congratulated Dirk and the Mavs. Instead he decided to belittle fans who decided to root against him, basically saying he's better than them. LeBron needs to take a long look in the mirror and ask himself what kind of legacy he wants to leave years from now. Does he want to be remembered as a player loved by the fans and who is appreciative of the fans - or does he want to go out a hated, reviled and spoiled basketball star?
