Yonni Nir and Arizona state alumni Derek Glasser signed for the team. Robert Rothbart and Sasa Bratic are supposed to come next.
The team will host its home games for the coming season at at Nesher sport arena (1300 seats) due to renovations works due to start at Romema Sport arena that will increase the seating capacity to 4500-5000 seats.

No big signings.

No Jason Rich.

No Davon Jefferson.

What's Haifa going to look like?

Right now they're building Israeli part of the roster which is looking pretty solid: Yoni Nir ( among the best Israli PF , less mobile then Kadir/Kukia , but much stronger ) , Robert Rothbart ( the best option , considering Kuzi/Green are currently struggling with injuries :( ) , Derek Glasser ( still to be tested , but his stats in Arizona State are pretty good )

Sasha Bratic is rumored to join , there also will be some sort of try-out in one of Florida universities @ 27.07

Let's wait & see :)

Thanks for the info, though all that I pretty much knew. Thanks for the link, interesting, I live pretty close to that (my father lives right next to it in fact - and it's not Fort Lauderdale like they stated, but Davie - ok I'm being anal).

Do you know of any other players they have shown interest in?

Forgot to mention Avi Ben Chimol

He was the first player to be signed after Elad Hasin was named a head coach

So if Marco Killingsworth was signed, it seems like this is the team so far (correct me if I'm wrong):

PF - Marco Killingsworth - Yoni Nir
SF - Sylven Landesberg - Sasha Bratic
C - (foreigner) - Robert Rothbart
PG - Derek Glasser - Avi ben Chimol
SG - Derrick Low* - Frank Robinson

*Though Low is a true (small) 2-guard, he can play the point. Moving Robinson to start at the 2.

I dunno what in Elad Hasin plans, but back in Natania Killingsworth played at C position with Rothbart as back-up. The very same situation with Bratic - Nir @PF position in Holon , the only difference that Nir was a starter there due to BSL restrictions

I see the team signed Larry O'Bannon to replace the the injured Derek Glasser. Any news on his injury?

The New Jersey Nets are set to play a pre-season exhibition game against Maccabi Haifa on October 3, 2010 7PM ET @ The Prudential Center, Newmark, NJ.

I heard there is a renovation for Romema Arena - any news/updates?
How many seats?
When will it be completed?
And do you guys have a render for after renovation completed Romema Arena?

1) 5k seats
2) somewhere in May 2012
3) nope

Thanks guys :)

5,000 seats isnt enough tho. Israel needs some more new 10-15k arenas (eg for M.Haifa, Netanya, H.Jerusalem, and etc)

Are they down to national league now after the regular season is done?

No, they're playing a series against Ashkelon now (best of five) loser will be relegated. Haifa won the first game that was played in Haifa

Talk about a disapointing season.

Anyone have any news on Derek Glasser? Is he planning on playing next season?
