Herrman hurt his foot, out 7-10 days: source

Bad news, Herrman has shot terribly in the two preseason games i have seen the boxscores of... with one more player to be cut, this could be the thing that gets Hermann cut from the team....

Bobcats forward Walter Herrmann of Argentina will miss seven to 10 days because of a strained right foot.

The Bobcats signed Herrmann a one-year contract in September. Known for his outside shooting when he played in Spain, Herrmann has missed all nine shots he has taken in Charlotte's first two exhibition games.
Coach Bernie Bickerstaff, speaking before Monday's exhibition game against Washington, called the injury a "good thing."

"It gives him the time off because he's been playing a lot of basketball," he said.

Herrmann averaged 9.8 points for Argentina in this summer's FIBA World Championship, where he scored 25 points and 23 points in back-to-back wins over Venezuela and Lebanon.

"The part that he is not doing is my least concern and that's shooting and missing," Bickerstaff said. "I have no concern about that at all because it's something I know the guy can do. We watched that consistently. We just got to embrace him, put our arm around him and tell him to keep firing it."
Herrmann could be fighting for a roster spot. Charlotte has 16 players with guaranteed contracts and only 15 roster spots.

Yeah I thought the same, this is like a nightmare for Walter

Wálter equales his best game so far in his rookie season, making 18 pts (+ 4 rebs + 1 steal) in 20 minutes, as the Bobcats lose to the Warriors.

Double-digit scoring for Wálter, 12 pts (+ 1 reb + 1 assist) as the Bobcats lose to the Rockets.

Two consecutive double-digit scoring game: 10 pts (in 12 minutes) and 15 pts (in 25 minutes).

Another good game for Wálter with extend playing time (30 minutes): 18 pts + 5 rebs (+ 1 assist).

It's great that Walter finally is getting his minutes (although he got them because of injuries), but he really is taking advantage of this chance. He is proving game after game that he can provide instant scoring with good percentages, and there will sure be some NBA teams thinking about signing him for next season.

His first double-double: 19 pts + 10 rebs (+ 1 assist) as the Bobcats beat the Cavs.

Wálter keeps playing good: 17 pts (3/5 3pt) (+ 4 rebs) in 28 minutes as the Bobcats lose to the Sixers.

New scoring career-high: 20 pts (+ 7 rebs + 2 assists) in an OT defeat against the Nets with Wálter making the starting lineup.
He's averaged 15.2 ppg + 5 rpg in the last 7 games. He currently ranks 5th in the league's three-point percentage (44.3%).

He seems to be getting adjusted and is stealing time away from Adam Morrisson.... here's some pics of his patented palm-the-ball-take-it-to-the-basket

Stuart

New scoring-high for him: 23 pts (+ 9 rebs + 3 assists) while playing 42 minutes as the Bobcats beat the Bucks.
He's been incredible!

Also shooting 11-15 FG. He's pretty much on fire right now.

The Herrmannator is on fire, he is slowly working his way in my fav. players list. Id like to see him in Detroit-he is having motor-city-badboy build.

If he keeps going like this I think we'll be witnessing a phenomenon. I mean, we might have expected him to play decently, put some nice numbers and so, but certainly not this meteoric power. At least I didn't. It's just awesome considering he was sidelined much of the season and that this is his rookie year.
Great Wálter.

Wálter keeps consistent: 22 pts + 8 rebs + 3 assists as the Bobcats lose to the Raptors.

Walter finally was awarded as the Eastern Rookie of the Month. Well deserved!

Definitely! His actual season started a bit later but he's compensating ;)

On the same note... found this mention of Hermann (along with LaMarcus Aldridge, Craig Smith, Tarence Kinsey and Tyrus Thomas) on CNN.com: Finishing Kick: Five slow-starting rookies who are coming on strong

Walter Herrmann, Bobcats - This 6-9 forward with the distinctive blond ponytail already has as many Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month awards (one) as his more celebrated teammate Morrison. Herrmann took home the honors for March after he averaged 18.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 62.5 percent from the field. His best effort might have come in a 108-100 OT win against the Cavs on March 20, when he had 29 points -- including a key three-pointer late in the overtime - and 10 boards. Herrmann, who signed with Charlotte as a free agent, was buried on the bench early in the season. The 27-year-old finally got his break due to injuries in the Bobcats' frontcourt, and quickly made the most of it with his physical defense and solid overall play. Herrmann, who played with Manu Ginobili, Fabricio Oberto and Nocioni as a member of Argentina's national team, says he just needed some time to adjust to a new language and culture.
