UAAP Season 88

  • Thread starter Thread starter Silent Killer2
  • Start date Start date
With things happening on both FEU and UE, I am thankful that Adamson was able to convince all of their 7 graduating players from the Juniors to play for the Seniors. Kobe Demisana is also coming in. Montebon and Manzano are still with the team. Adamson should not f*ck this up.

Thats what you called the Nash effect.

Thankful to have him at Adamson. The team has been overachievers for the past four seasons.

the schools like adamson, feu can’t compete money to money with big schools but what your school and feu can do is focus on the grassroots.. good thing you don’t have denok miranda to ruin things..

La Salle averted total collapse with a win against NU in the Asiabasket semis. They will face archrival Ateneo in the finals, who completed a comeback against San Beda.

feu with a bold move to make the pre’s look bad. You cant really leak that

agree on this.. VJ Pre is in a lose lose scenario.. his family is going to be vilified and he's now losing 2 programs willing to pay for his transfer.. is FEU going to look at him and his family the same way if he stays? he could be (one of) the easiest scapegoat if FEU falter in this incoming season..

as i have stated earlier, better for him to already move (3rd program)..

Watched the DLSU game and it’s insane how stacked their lineup is. Everytime Topex fielded in a new guy, my thought was: oh right, this guy is still in the roster!

That being said, they need to trim down the rotation soon to build chemistry. Based on my own personal opinion, his closing five (or the ones who should get most minutes) should be:

Phillips
Amos
Abadam
Cortez
Baclaan

Then their relievers are:

Pablo
Gollena
Macalalag
Dungo
FSA

Which would leave the following as third stringers:

Daep
Quines
Marasigan
Melencio
Sarmiento

So the 16th man in the UAAP lineup could be anyone really.

Mark Molina's interview IMO just made it a lose-lose case for Veejay Pre.. Might as well take the money and transfer... get this over and done with..

Sure, sell your soul, everyone's doing it. Being corrupt is just a trend right now.

Some universities organize a rally against corruption, yet stay oddly silent about the confidential fund and POGO money used to bankroll the basketball team.

Plus schools use these students as marketing tools anyway, do they even share the revenue they generate from tv coverage, ticket sales, merchandise, advertisements, and licensing to their respective student athletes?

do they even get compensation from the additional
students they can bring to their institutions.

so how does choosing a program that will compensate your talents sell your soul? does that mean that every working citizen who aspired to having bigger salaries also sell their souls? or those who transferred companies or even OFWs who chose to depart for greener pastures as well..

making a generalization also that a program benefitted from Conf funds and/or Pogo is still an allegation that all of us (including me) are waiting to be proven.

thus the NIL scenario in US NCAA Div1.. and the recent plans (pa ata?) to revise longstanding rules in terms of giving direct financial benefits to athletes in this "new" age of amateurism...

schools treat student athletes as commodities, time for the student athletes to protect their business interests and career options.

Being forced to transfer because money is involved? Values like integrity and honesty seem so rare nowadays, right?

Nice, why fight the system when you can profit from it? It’s okay to sell my vote now because they’ll compensate me regardless of the long-term effects. The kid doesn’t even want to transfer because he knows it will hurt his development as a player. He’s happy with what he has right now. He understands he can earn more later in his career, but his parents' love language? Cold, hard cash.

As long as I don't associate myself with unscrupulous people, I’m good to go.

“Earn later in his career” is kinda problematic, not all bluechippers make it big in the pros, there is a huge possibility that this could be the biggest money his family could see, plus the diploma he’ll get (provided its from the big 4) is significantly better than FEU’s .

why be loyal to a institution that will just discard you anyway when someone better comes along?

Yep these universities act as moral beacons yet silent about the questionable persona of their boosters

from danding (marcos), mvp (salim and suharto) romero and carpio (duterte), jonvic (pol dynasty in cavite, alleged pogo ties) , rsa (danding and by extension marcos)

Or when you get hurt.

Any parent or family has the right to influence their children if there are better oppotunities and/or if they feel that their child's talent/value is not properly reciprocated (i hope this is not the case for VJ).. so every parent or family who looks after their kid is corrupt now? or engaged in vote buying?

Being forced to transfer is what the FEU camp ( Mark Molina)said in his interview with Naveen And putting a bad spotlight on his parents and family members (pati lola ata sinama)... has this interview taken into account the overall well being of VJ?

and your statement that his parent's love language is cold cash.. only strengthens my position that VJ is in a lose lose situation.. sa interview pa lang, vilified na yung parents/family...

im reading a lot of posts/articles that there are issues in your camp.. why not look at this first and address it (if issues are true)... rather than putting VJ's family under the bus..

that interview was a blunder.. oh well, there's a thousand way to skin a cat (figurative speech)...
