UAAP Season 88

The exemption for guys like Ladi, who only spend one or two years in the collegiate ranks before going to the PBA, is kind of difficult—unlike for players who spend their full college years at their school, like Phillips or Kouame. So, I expect Ladi to get an exemption similar to how Newsome and Slaughter got theirs—roughly ten years of playing in the country.

Maybe it's just me, but if SBP pushes for Phillips’ exemption right after he graduates from DLSU, it would hold more weight. He literally spent his full six years at DLSU. FIBA seems to emphasize a player's education more than their professional stint, so I don’t think Phillips would need to get drafted into the PBA to earn an exemption. But we all know the PBA leaders would still want him to play in their league.

Added fact here is that Motor Mike is a fluent Tagalog speaker and he learned it here - that's an evidence that he really embraced the Philippines as his home.

yes, we could say that is also factor in judging the player's ties to the country

Yea quines is legit. He is a three level scorer and can make pull up 3’s.

He can be converted into a 1 with the right system

He and daep are the legit mvp contenders, if not for the suspension, he actually could win. My gut says he's going to taft. Topex loves scrappy and crafty guys like him and learning under jacob and kean would benefit him alot.

If ever he goes to Taft, it will relegate Rubico even further down the bench.

If that happens, maybe he should just go back to the ncaa. Lpu could still use him. At this point quines bag and basketball iq are all above him. Also helps he's a homegrown talent. I mean if his former teammates romero, zamora and alian can make the team, whats stopping him.

Or turn Pro and join the MPBL?

I think Rubico is in a good spot. Its his 3rd year in the program. Jacob and Kean only have 2 years left then after that hell be the veteran point guard for 2 more years. I dont think Alian can overtake him and I dont think Quines is a point guard. If anything Dungo is the one that needs to look at Quines but the wings of DLSU will be decimated in 2 years as well.

Dungo has the size and skills to play multiple positions. There were times topex played him at the point and has been decent. So i dont think he will have a hard time finding a role for him. Tho i agree with alian. I have him over rubico but not that much.

Quines at the moment is you prototypical scoring guard, reminds me a lot of ex blazer migs oczon. Can score at all 3 levels, yet can make the occasional assist whenever a teammate is free. As ive said very good basketball iq, deep bag and id like to had, fearless. Only thing i'd like for him to improve is his man to man D. He has good steal numbers and can force a lot of to's but when the opposing offense slows down, his man wont have trouble getting by him.

It’s unfortunate but Daep’s frame is a bit like A pinoy evan mobley.

Small-ish shoulder frame, high hips long legs. He’s skilled but seems like he will always be a skinny 4. Which is good locally. Hopefully i’m wrong.

Compared to Sharma wide ass shoulders / long arms and torso. He projects to put in mass easily.

And he's taller than palanca at 6'8.

If Jedric is as good as Palanca, at his height, he should be a must for Gilas. Bad thing they don't have the same height and ability. Jedric looks like a project, same as Tumaneng

I am still hoping for Palanca to have an increase in height with 1-2 inches.

If you guys watched the Pinoy Liga live broadcast earlier, you got a glimpse of DLSU's new FSA recruit. A revolving door of FSA's at La Salle, I lost count already. hehehe. But I hope the coaching staff will bring back Kuya Bright for season 88. He worked his ass off this off-season to improve himself and more importantly he is HEALTHY.

How many years Lopez has left? The team would just be redundant with him and Caelum.

Speaking of Lopez & Caelum Harris, is it safe to say that Caelum is the better ball handler version of Lopez?

Also, I think Caelum Caelum has better body control than Lopez.

Im liking nwanko as well, he looks improved. Not bad for someone who'll prolly be motor mike's backup anyways

Anyways who's gonna be the starting PF, Pablo or Amos?
