UAAP Season 88

  • Thread starter Thread starter Silent Killer2

Konov and Pablo are still with DLSU. I saw a video clip of them playing with the team for a benefit game in Zobel.

Don’t know where the rumors of them leaving came from.

Things might get a bit awkward among the DLSU elite. Francis Zamora's sister is one of the impeachment prosecutors of Sara Duterte who is obviously the wife of Mans Carpio.

I think mans carpio already saw this coming the moment francis zamora left his old political party pdp (duterte aligned) and joined partido federal (bbm's party). Worst case scenario will be his son getting cut lol haha.

tbh francis might be giving more money at this point than mans

Why would he leave at this point? That 3-year UP stint, where he was part of two championships, adds a lot of value to his resume. He could stay for at least another year until he's 22 years old and then proceed to the PBA Draft. I would understand if he were to transfer to a big NCAA program like SBU, Letran, or Benilde, where he could get the exposure he needs. But it's been 8 years since JRU made it to the playoffs, and that won't help with his exposure unless he believes he can lead them to the top, which is possible nonetheless.

I think being a role player on the UAAP's defending champion is much better than being the superstar on a team in the NCAA that finished last in the standings last season and hasn't been a playoff team for the last 8 years.

It is not like a PBA team won't take a chance on a 6'5 player who can play as wing.

This is the same guy that vloggers has been telling us that could be our future GILAS starting PG. Dunno what he's been up to but is it safe to say he hasn't lived up to expectations? What's the cause? Lack of PT, competition too tough in the UAAP or he isn't just as good as advertised?

Jru will just make him a center lmao haha. Maybe he got threatened with the impending inclusion of yniguez and coronel in the lineup.

Right? Him being a center would be most likely considering there is no FSA anymore.

As ive said in the other thread, other than those schools you mentioned, dont think any other team in the ncaa can afford to utilize him in his true position. I mean last year jru's center was 6'2 ryan arenal, even their power forward was 6'2 joshua guiab lol

Those vloggers were reaching anyway. Maybe they saw a clip of him handling the ball properly and then decided to make content out of it. However, I think he proved his case as a wing with the minutes he got in UP. He’s doing decently, at least. He’ll likely do more in the NCAA because the competition isn’t as tough as in the UAAP, but I’m sure he’ll play as a center, which is foolish if he wants a long pro career. As much as the PBA has its flaws, it’s evolving, especially with all these 6'4" to 6'6" wings emerging. I don’t think they’d still take a chance on a 6'5" center unless they’re built for it, like Arana. But Aldous is really skinny, so he’s more comfortable playing as a wing and he won't be able to continue playing that position it if he will leave UP.

The way I see things, if you want to get a shot in the PBA, be a role player in the UAAP. If you want to go abroad, try to be a star in the NCAA.

So he can be the next Navarro? Though his handles was legit

He transferred because someone else is transferring to UP. Just wait for the announcement in a few weeks.
