I hope he has insurance. Are there insurance companies here willing to pay athletes in the event of injury like in the US?

Despite the departure of their guards, this development makes DLSU a scary team. They can play Mike P, Henry (their new FSA) and KQ together. Legit pick and roll threath.

I think Alao (2 years in Team B already) plus Ethan Alian can support Joshua David. Do tou think Mitchell will be back?

The insurance has always been team manager Terry Capistrano. La Salle has always been one of those teams that get a lot of fees waived and have no problems sending players to St. Luke's, Asian, or even TMC (Ateneo's medical backyard) from simple bruises to ACL tears.

Why does he have so many connections?

But this is the medical aspect. It doesn't cover his potential losses had he played for a pro team abroad.

epok quimpo and tab baldwin watching the cesafi jrs finals. one final pitch for jhouse?

Collins Akowe has been dominating the Junior's Division for the NU Nazareth. He has been here since last year at age 16. We'll probably see him in the NU Bulldogs in the near future.

If Jhouse wants playing time he should go to Ateneo. He will just ride the bench in UP.

It aint over til its over. Look at KB, he played for UST during the pre season but last minute switched to NU. When money talks, everyone listens.

But Baclaan didn't get the "perks" that Bahay did. What's he going to do, return them?

It's a done deal, I think. He won't change his mind.

As far as La Salle is concerned, if one's ID number is still active... they're not professionals yet. We've seen them take care of guys like BJ Manalo and a host of guys who have had to skip entire seasons due to injury... then if they make it to the PBA, their insurance comes up in contract renewal talks and don't last long.

There are levels to college recruits... the lowest being: a scholarship, a dorm residence, their school canteen food paid for, an allowance. Then there are those who get a bit closer to the manager than others and God knows what else they get. To put into context, PBA minimum contracts aren't worth a lot because players have families to feed. College players aren't supposed to spend for anything.

Unless they became breadwinners since they get significant allowances..I dont get this private universities on why they cant offer blue chp recruits scolarships for immediate family..

The 15 year old 6'10 Owen Calanasan is in the Ateneo blue eaglet bench..if Ateneo develop this kid you will see 7'1-7'2 monster

I've been saying this...having 6'8+ players suddenly popping up is no longer as rare for us like in decades past.

The problem is, all of them get discovered at around 15 years old and are still very raw and slow. Almost every time, they just started playing basketball. This while you have millions of sub 6-foot kids who started playing when they were still very young.

Such a mind-boggling waste of opportunity.
