Well that’s his job… if you can’t recruit good players, then you shouldn’t be in that position in the first place…If you want to add more talent on your roster, go find players with huge potential

True that's his job.

And so far he's recruited in my opinion, a blue chip in Prince Carino and another high potential kid. The best thing about it is that he's allowed the kid to play point despite his size. It's become a cliche that our HS programs forces any kid 6 feet + to play as a big and what he's allowed the kid to do is a breath of fresh air. That's all.

This is not excuse all the others things he did. Good people are capable of mistakes and bad people are capable of doing good once in a while.

Cholo Villanueva rumored to take over Jack Santiago as UE next head coach.

Him playing "point forward" is per the vlogger. Those hypers don't have a good track record in terms of analysis and reliability. They basically look for kids taller than about 6'5 and hype them up, the more obscure the better. They then generously label them "point" something as long as there's a clip of them dribbling on the move or passing. It's clickbait for fans who long for tall guards. They don't even have any idea on which players the programs are truly developing behind the scenes.

I think it's detrimental because it either puts undue pressure on the raw ones or it makes them believe their own hype.

While I agree that those vloggers are not the most credible sources of info. The mere fact that he's handling the rock in the perimeter and making plays in an organized basketball setting is already a welcome sign.

I don't understand how people can be so pessimistic about this. Pressure will always be there especially the higher you go up in the ladder. It's a test of character. It's on you and your support system to be there for you.

Cholo Villanueva to ue is a good move. Never been a fan of jack santiago and it was clear that it was time for ue to move on. This hiring could signify sga coming to them soon. While he may not be part of the sga umbrella, he does fit archtype of most if not all ths sga coaches (Charles tiu, Allen Ricardo, Karl Santos etc). Young, determined and brilliant. So it should be no problem now for sga to take ue in. Not to mention the numerous connections to sga peeps, like marvin bienvinida who was jacob lao's coach in lsgh.

Sir I read in one of the posts that the Cholo hiring is a sign that the Lucio Tan group wont hand over the mens basketball team (yet) to SGA since Cholo is also the LTGs coach in Tanduay in the MPBL.

But good argument though, it will all be clear in the new year.

I believe sga can co exist naman with lucio tan's group. If ue were smart they should get both. Let lucio tan be the silent partner thatll still sponsor the program while give the basketball ops to sga.

Tho if im sga, ill still wait a couple more year before fully handling the srs team. At the moment dlsu and up are still the top of the league, ust is also starting to peak. But the basketball landscape may change in the next 2-3 years as key players start to graduate. Now this should be the optimal time for them to enter the league. Not to mention most of their boys over the jrs warrios should also be in college by then.

Last I heard is that the SGA UE thing isn't pushing through. Coach Cholo is Tanduay.

a foul has been called on the Archers for what it seems like the past 10 possessions now.

Raven Cortez/Gonzales is a quality big, same with stevens, even udodo can be dominant with more usage, it shows the aprity gap on this league... guys lie cedric manzano, manaytay, devin fikes, kris porter is lucky because they get the burn..

Whole game videos of FEU juniors are available to truly see reality instead of relying on these vloggers.

A quick browse of all the young kids that these midwit analysts needlessly hyped show that majority don't pan out. There's pressure and then there's unnecessary pressure. RDO's kid is a recent example, these hypers made expectations so high that he ended up doing something else.

Its not just vloggers. Even certain journalists love to hype kids. I remember Paul Garcia being overhyped by Homer for example.
