UP has the more talented players individually, but DLSU has the more disciplined players.
 
Austria still not on his villain form yet. He needs to find his groove back now that Alarcon is starting to heat up.
 
UP coaches will stubbornly use Alarcon to defend KQ even if the latter completely dominates the former. lol
 
Alarcon has to explode against La Salle for UP to have a chance otherwise it's an easy sweep for the guys in green.

They'll put Lopez on KQ. If Lopez is a starter, then Alarcon won't be. Otherwise, their second unit will have no one who can create his own shot.

My guess is that UP will use the same starters they used in the UST game: JD, Torres, QMB, Lopez and Abadiano. QMB will match up against Agunanne, JD against David, Lopez against KQ, Torres and Abadiano on Macalalag and Gollena.

On the other hand, I think Topex will put Austria on Alarcon. Austria and Mike Phillips will likely come off the bench.

I expect UP to be very physical against Mike Phillips, as they did last year with so many cheap shots against him in the finals series.
 
Alarcon is the best KQ defender lol. Lopez doesnt have the discipline to locate KQ on the moves and off screens in the perimeter

Last year, maybe. This year it's Lopez who has defended KQ the best.

And two-big line-up will not work for UP because despite having QMB I still think DLSU's frontline is superior. UP has the backcourt advantage but most of their guards are not disciplined enough both on offense and defense.
 
Up shooters alarcon, abadiano and cagulangan are off the dribble shooters.. the spot up guys fortea belmonte and chicco are spot up.. the main 3 guards needs to dribble the ball to shoot the spot up guys wont get productive if they dont set up them i

Up have at most 3 games to play their peak form and get the title as they never did the whole season..only alarcon is in 5th gear the previous 2 games the whole team.is at 3rd gear at most. They need to be a gear higher to make it interesting for la salle..a fifth gear will win them the title..

it is about even, it is just that up did not use two bigs the whole season so the bigs don't know how to play with each other. it is phillips who should be controlled. Udoudo should be used to body up on phillips to prevent him from getting rebounds. QMB can handle the dlsu fsa. Stevens is big but has low bball iq.
 
The defeats of UP against DLSU obviously shows that the one big tactic doesn't work. And repeating something that doesn't work and hoping for a different outcome is a definition of insanity. KQ is not who worries me. It is Phillips because he energizes the team not KQ. That is why he should be contained.

What seems to be the problem? He should be fired! He is not qualified to be the basketball director of FEU.. if Nash Racela will be fired by Adamson, better hire him to replace Denok to improve FEU’s recruitment… No player wants to play under Denok in the first place, that’s why Sleat and company left the team
