UAAP season 87

To be fair, two things which happened late in the pre-season derailed their season before it even began: Amos' sudden departure and Lebron Nieto's injury.

I think if those two things did not happen, they'd be firmly in the final four hunt this season.

Mason's dad was publicly against the system Tab was running. I dont think that couldve worked out. Obviously Ateneo would choose Tab.

I think Nieto aint a big loss, at least compared to Gab Gomez and Jared Brown, who left early and are currently unoccupied.

Tab really needs someone to help him out in recruitment. I dont think getting talent on board is his strong suit

Disagree here. He was able to win Mason over despite his family's ties with DLSU with his persistent pursuit as per Mason.

Remember, he also recruited Dwight Ramos, who's already mainstay for Gilas at such a young age. He's so good that he didn't even need college to bolster his stock to get a foreign pro contract.

If anything, Ateneo needs to keep their talent.

So Adamson is exceeding the expectations this season. From a projected last place finish to a chance to be in the final four once again. All of this with an obvious shortage of talent.

who is the the LaSallian alumnus in Mason's family? mother or father?

Why, what was wrong with Tab's system according to Mason's dad?

There was no way for Ateneo to be competitive this year with a 6'5" center, Porter, as their man in the middle.

I think Ateneo has been so reliant on Tab’s development skills that they dont recruit many developed FSAs.

Also, UP pretty much hoarded all the good Filfor centers. QMB, Alter, Stevens.

You cant win with a 6’5 center. Will Ateneo put some money in recruiting a good center? Will it loosen up its strict acad requirements?

Let’s face it the UAAP is not about education but basketball. Ateneo has this holier than thou attitude about this when it seems it only started with Tab.

Developing kids to be better well rounded adults is good but your program is judged not by that but by how competitive their team is.

Ateneo has a decent team but it has a hole in center and PG slot. Bahay is decent but unfortunately he has RJ Abarrientos like defense. They need another Belangel or Padrigao, good sized two way PGs.

Let’s see if we can get an answer considering this person says he has sources lol.

If I am not mistaken, Mason’s dad used to post here.

Tab's trying to recruit some players from a school that produces their own blue chip homegrown but the players immediately reported it to the management. Tab tried to set an appointment with the kiddos but they declined. I wonder what happened to their own juniors program.

Doesnt adjust to his personnel. He wanted it to revolve more towards Mason.

I havent seen Mason lately but the kid needed more development player to be a go to player. He has size and skill but he doesnt have the athleticism of most Filfors. He has a big body but he doest really have strength and is not like homegrowns who did postups since they were young.

He aint doing his job if he aint trying.

Personally, i think Adamson underperformed.. they were really good during the preseason imo.
