UAAP season 87

Adamson hanging with UP just like the first game, but they don’t really have the tools to keep it close the entire game.

Alarcon not playing, is he injured?

Veejay Pre with 31 points in an losing effort against UST. Future is bright for the young FEU tamaraws.

In men's football, UP wins against La Salle, getting three big points which put them in the Final Four picture.

Ateneo's really dominant. 6 wins in 6 games with a goal difference of +12.

Yes. Strain. Day to day. Coaches made the call to DNP him today, might change in the next game

Adamson made the wrong move to 2-3 zone UP. Belmonte feasted in the 4th quarter like he did against the 2-3 in the early season games. Adamson just got away with it in the 3rd because UP was misfiring open 3s. Abadiano eventually came through, but Belmonte’s high post mastery was really the key for this one.

If you dont have the size and players to matchup against Lopez and QMB u have to gamble on the zone. Fransman is their only player above 6’3 who can move on the perimeter defensively . None of those guys cant matchup

I see ateneo has 2 fsa's in their team b. One is around the same height as kymani ladi, the other looks like a legit 7 footer

Caught some DLSU team B action.

Ogana really is impressive. He reminds me of an Emman Galman. He can score. Wish he can work on his shooting tho. Thats the only he can make team A. Whoever is handling this kid needs to advise him to work on his 3s.

Dom Sarmiento is your typical skinny tall dude. Unfortunately he doesn't have the "fight" in him to make up for his lack of weight either. He's a finesse player. He needs to add weight and be more confident in his shot too. He has a good shooting touch that's frankly underutilized.

I watched Belmonte in the UP-Adamson game yesterday, and in the minutes that he played, he looks like he can stay with Fransman on the perimeter. Hopefully this is a good sign of improving perimeter D.

Ojarike actually did a good job defending the post in the UP-AdU game, but the lack of other big men plus Manzano being under the weather spelled the difference. Adamson needs more height next season to contend.

The only way Ogana makes the team next season is if one or two of the current guard rotation decides not to exhaust their playing years. I just don’t see how they can still slot him with Macalalag, Abadam, Marasigan, Gollena and Austria still there.

Saw the dlsu ateneo game live and boy does Agunamme have really bad hands. He fumbles every pass thrown to him and does not secure rebounds well.

VJ Pre should start practicing to play as wing by now. Huge potential but with his height as 6'4, he won't be able to do what he is doing downlow against bigger opponents.

With all that said, the hardest thing for DLSU—or any team, for that matter—to find is a player as dominant as Mike Phillips.

Amos is a mythical level 5 type of talent, but he doesn’t impact the game like Mike. No one does except for QMB. Not only can Mike fill up the stat sheet, but he also boosts the team’s morale with his energy. Watching him play with such intensity in limited minutes against Ateneo shows that when the game slows down and others start to play haphazardly, he’ll still be going at 100% and outworking everyone on the floor.

Calling it now: Mike is bound to capture a MVP next year.
