UAAP season 87

  • Thread starter Thread starter Silent Killer2
  • Start date Start date
Enderun is not a university. Same reason why Letran will never be part of the UAAP, whether they like it or not.

UA&P and CEU do not have high school programs which is a must have to join UAAP or NCAA. The same reason why Lyceum was initially rejected by the NCAA.

Would AU have a chance? Although their basketball program is in doldrums, their other disciplines are doing well like volleyball, cheer leading and others.

how does this project affects Akari's backing on Adamson? i'm a bit worried to be honest.

Like someone mentioned, they're not really backing Adamson.

The Tiu siblings of Akari I believe all went to DLSU. I think the only school team they are really backing is DLSU women's football. Probably thought that the men's basketball booster club is already crowded.

The planned UAAP stadium can be a start of a trend. If the naming rights become Akari Stadium, it along with MOA might be the start of stadiums being built and named for sponsors like in the US. Hopefully, major provinces also follow suit.

They need to have more sports teams, last season 99 they only joined 5 out of 11 events in the ncaa. They dont have a football, lawn tennis or a table tennis team.

Of the 10 ncaa schools, only san beda and Benilde participated in almost all events

What are they gonna even call themselves if they get in, the maroons are already taken lol. Read somewhere that it could be the flaming chairs lol

The reds? Hahaha their entry to the uaap will challenge the core values of the pup community (uaap is basically everything they are against)

Akari has been supporting Adamson for almost 10 years now. I know since I was still in law school when Akari was one of our two reliable sponsors. The other is the Metro Stonerich. BTW, the latest building of the school is Dr. Carlos Tiu Center for Technology Innovation and Research. They have been very active in Adamson AFAIK. I don't know if it still the same as before though.

In Adamson MBTs Uniform, you can only see Puregold, Davies Paints, Stonerich (a construction company), and Anta. There is no Akari.

Wow. Puregold has been sponsoring Adamson since Leo Austria days if im not mistaken. They pulled out from their sponsorship with UE pala

How are UST’s Fil-Ams Chase Lane and Leland Estacio been doing? Estacio looked good in the pre season.

PUP radicals daw (from a abs cbn article)

Or the Chairblazers (from a fb comment)

But, honestly, San Beda, Lyceum and Mapua have the shot. Maybe CEU and MCU have an outside chance (note: MCU was a former UAAP member). AUF is an intriguing prospect - a university outside the Metro with NCAA experience. NEU has no chance being an INC-owned school.

Yep I was pertaining to current situation. I was also in dlsu at the tail end of the Akari ceo school days, a lot of his siblings (if not all) also attended.

For sure they have an affiliation with Adamson also. Very generous family, also has halls in dlsu named after them.

I see this arrangement more like what MVP has been doing for both Ateneo and San Beda.

I'm not sure if many are aware, the UAAP will have it's own stadium in Pasig by 2027 (est).

A big part of why games in schools are difficult to pull off is traffic and parking.

Too bad there aren't any big mall development in the areas around Rizal Memorial and Ninoy Aquino Stadium. I'm sure if there was ample parking space there then we can have regular season games again there as accessibility is not a problem. The renovation done seems good judging from watching the PBA games on TV.

Just realized that after S88, Philipps bros, Austria, and Raven will be gone. Assuming that KQ will forgo his eligibility.

It leaves a lot of room for Konov, Pablo, Melencio, Sarmiento and Amos to play.

The collection has a lot of shooting and good size alreadg Pablo and Rhyle. I hope Dom can turn into a Raven-type of player where he's reliable.

Raven is eligible until s89 since he was a covid reserve in his first year. Hell leave at the same time as Amos.
