UAAP season 87

I don't think that UAAP will approve the application of PUP if ever they apply. First things first, you need money. Does PUP have the funding to cover atleast half of the sports events in the UAAP? I am referring to the expenses of getting athletes, maintaining facilities and conducting practices outside the Metro or even abroad.

UP is fortunate since they have tons of wealthy alumni that serve as boosters plus Jonvic and the corporate backing (Robinson's I believe). How about PUP? AFAIR, the students burned the school's chairs when Admin decided to increase the tuition at P12 per unit.

IMO, I only see these three schools to have the most realistic chance to be part of UAAP if they apply - Mapua, Lyceum and San Beda.

All valid points which is why I don't think PUP will be a UAAP team soon.

As for Mapua, Lyceum and San Beda. There is really not much of an incentive to go from NCAA to UAAP. They're pretty successful programs (especially Beda) in the NCAA. And going to UAAP might make them bottom feeders as it'll be difficult to compete with other schools there financially.

All these schools view athletics as a way to advertise their school. NCAA has good nationwide coverage and it doesn't make sense to go to the trouble to the UAAP simply to be mediocre in that league

But to be honest, I have one school in mind that I consider to be an intriguing prospect if ever, by chance, they apply in UAAP - that's AUF.

how about Enderun, UA&P and CEU?

Enderun is not a university. Same reason why Letran will never be part of the UAAP, whether they like it or not.

UA&P and CEU do not have high school programs which is a must have to join UAAP or NCAA. The same reason why Lyceum was initially rejected by the NCAA.

Ceu has a high school. They call it Centro Escolar Integrated School (CEIS). Of all the schools outside the uaap and ncaa, they're the most intriguing. They have a capable basketball team(i mean both uaap and ncaa teams already recruit from their program while they've also become a hotbed for ex uaap and ncaa guys) and also a solid volleyball program. Sure they may not win alot if they join either leagues but they have the budget for the athletics program. So if there's any school that could join either leagues its them.

Another option is Manila Central University who seem to have solid backing as of late with regards to their basketball program (they were able to get former UP fsa recruit jayveon coleman, couple fil-canadians and some ex uaap and ncaa guys). They also have a highschool program if im not mistaken. Also helps that MCU was already a member of uaap decades ago.

For ncaa schools, recently there's been an interview where someone from the san beda management talked about the potential move to uaap and basically said that its not in the cards now tho they're not closed to the idea of it. Of all the ncaa schools, they're the best fit to join the league tho uaap member schools may reject it since they're already a powerhouse program and can compete in terms of recruitment.

PUP will be a good fit in the UAAP. But maybe it should be an even number so maybe add CEU as well. Make the final four sweeter by adding teams and not be content being a final 4 team by just being the best four teams in an 8-team league. Lol

I think so yeah, ust jrs fsa racine kane was from there before he moved with the ust high, but unfortunately for them, they're not yet a university.

coach manansala is seriously underrated. ust should give him another chance. i thought he did well with what he had in his only year in the UAAP.

In Adamson MBTs Uniform, you can only see Puregold, Davies Paints, Stonerich (a construction company), and Anta. There is no Akari.

Last two questions, is the PUP willing to recruit FSAs? Do they have a high school program?

Students of pup will revolt if they find out how much the university is spending for their basketball team lol.

PUP is still a hotbed for student activism
