Why are you still here then? Check the last couple of pages. Im not the only one bothered by your replies here. Just go make your own thread and stop making a mess here. LOL. Simple as that.

Oh no, did I really have to say it? This is a forum about UAAP. Hope this helps. lol

Is this a sign that balogun is on the way out?

not necessarily. teams need backup FSAs given injuries can happen anytime.

i also saw them play for team b. the tall one is extremely raw and soft. the other one is a bit better but he doesn't seem to be better than balogun right now anyways. lol

ball clubs in europe at least don’t kick out minors from their dorm.

Promising a better life to a poor family and selling a dream but if they underperform they get tossed out. It’s no longer new and we’ve been doing it for a while yet we still haven’t treated our FSA’s any better than before if anything we have treated them worse.

Heck if they can kick out and evict locals, what more their fsa counterparts who are treated not as students but as imports that are expected to perform asap.

The long and short of it is that FSA’s here are treated like second class players but theres of course a few exceptions. They know they have nothing to get back to and still exploit that. Of course they are more expensive to get over cause they have agents even though they are young , lodging and plane tickets . HS teams here have a limited budget to work with as well.

Exploitation of migrants, ofws, immigrants, illegals, etc (including minors) happens everywhere. Those who think it doesn't happen in Europe and the US are naive. They are a vulnerable sector and there will always be bad actors who will exploit that.

Jorge Gutierrez (former nba) moved to the US from Mexico as a young teenager. He was put up in a house with many other prospects where they lived like migrant workers. He got lucky and got a scholarship but most everyone he was with went nowhere. For every Giannis in Europe, there are countless limbo refugees, migrants, illegals who got exploited for sports and became just a statistic.

We do what we can to curtail exploitation but if it can happen in developed countries, what more in the Philippines. Bottom line is, these immigrants (just like their pinoy counterparts) come from situations where it's a lot worse.

One thing we can try to implement is guaranteed scholarship until HS graduation for minor FSAs. At the very least, their Philippine education would be valuable from where they came from. And like I said, this discourages the schools without the necessary budget.

Terrence Fortea having a bounceback season is not something I expected. That shooting form is money as long as he's not trying to create on his own. I remember sometime before he also had some interest from Korean clubs?

When it comes to pure talent, Fortea has always been the highest upside UP guard. That's why he already got international interest early.

The other guards are just more physical and willing to do the dirty work so they fit well locally.

Fortea is the most talented offensive player in the Maroons team. He can shoot off the catch and off the dribble, which not a lot of UAAP players can do.

for a pretty small (players) country thats addicted to basketball, youd think that filipino players might bother improving on their shooting, but no, I personally think that its an eyesore that we have so many midget players that cant shoot reliably on the three point line to save their lives... and dont get me started on free throws.

Shooting is all about Repetition and Confidence. The world's elite shoot hundreds and up to thousands of shots a day.

We have the double whammy of not having enough courts (especially for the average kid growing up) and sub-optimal work ethic.

A player pretty much have to personally have his own court (or provided one) and actually spend a lot of time using it every day to be an elite shooter.

I've seen american parents buy their kids high-level shooting machines for their homes (when you see a white shooter in D1 or higher, most likely grew up like that).

several years ago we are very very critical on Terrence Fortea and Forthsky esp. those FIBA under tournament with Kai and Raven

in fact I monickered them as "the Loose Cannon bros." with so many ill-advised and come what may kind of a shot

aside from those head scratching turnovers

"what's goin' on coach Sandy Arespacho???" that's the mixed reactions at that time.

now fast forward

boy hairdo still had the shades of that "Loose Cannon" thing but more improvement and little bit subtle

as for TF as per my observation, he is little bit matured now compared to his former back-court partner

if he keeps that low profile thing and keeps on grinding

he could be an asset as the designated pistolero of his future team moving forward

he still needs to improve on his defensive considering that very position is very much saturated nowadays

2-way players are the apple of the eyes nowadays.

awesome game

UST tiger cubs beat FEU-D 76-75.. canapi with game winning steal off the press.. FEU-D couldn’t score in the final possession as CP miranda misses the game winning attempt

Canapi 21 points 5 steals, 6 rebounds

Mason Amos just started vlogging. I guess he is bored LOL.

What interests me are the various guys on DLSU's Team B. A lot we have already identified as they played in various pre-season tournaments, but there are some new faces I think. You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/8NS_4A9CPNs?si=8z_oeQIhTqzeiaX7

I see the usual suspects: Mason, Jacob Cortez, Luis Pablo, Sarmiento, Nwanko, Ogana, Buenaventura, Banwait (so he is still there) among others. The rest I can't see clearly enough to identify.

Banwait looking slimmer, what's his designation again, is he a filfor?

Someone who definitely needs more attention is that Bautista kid from FEU. Clutch.
