The video of the incident that Torres is referring to:

I guess judge for yourself?

I keep playing it back at the 2-3 second mark and I only see Torres passing by and Coach Topex, hands on waist, still looking at the play. If he spat on him his body would've moved slightly forward or he could've wiped his mouth from the excess saliva. Video was shot too far too. Weird though that Torres passed too close in front of the DLSU bench. Oh well...

Actually, what I saw is that when he reacted, he was actually in front of Caloy and not Topex.

But you know, UP fans are considering this conclusive evidence already LOL

They’re being delusional at this point & focusing on “moral victories”. They should instead be preparing for the 2nd round, as their weaknesses were exposed in their game vs DLSU & will be exploited by the other teams

lol at people calling tom chua as a fake tough guy. dude is a letranista and learned under coach tino and coach louie.

So Coach Topex's head movement as Torres passed by was just a nod of greeting?

Looking at the spliced slo-mo video, the head movement was emphasized. The normal clip is unremarkable. Maybe that’s just me.

I guess this is the hill UP wants to die on, so be it.

nothing's going to come out of this. the footage is too far. but whether if it's true or not, UP has extra motivation in the following games. this isn't their first incident.

Instead of focusing on that supposed spitting issue I think UP would be better off focusing on improving themselves for the second round

Because the footage spreading around is from the TV coverage, and the camera is on the opposite side. I’ll be surprised if One Sports does not have footage from the other angle. They have several camera angles (we get various angles when there’s a challenge), although this alleged incident happened during a dead ball scenario.

i wonder if there are teams recording the games from different vantage points. i.e. perhaps someone has footage focusing on the opponents' bench as means of scouting their hand signs and playcalling.

They prefer it then actually dealing with the loss

If they can get Topex suspended, then why not? Especially since the next game is against UE, and the Board/Technical Committee has always shown a bias towards UP anyway.

he shouldnt be allowed on the bench dressed like that though . Just looks so sloppy but what do you expect the commissioner wears sweats and hoodies as well

Everyone else is wearing the same coach’s uniform except him too, so he stands out even more.

As I noted since last year, Topex loves shooters and floor spacing. That's why he kept recruiting the likes of Amos, Konov, and Sarmiento.

He also encourages the team to take more threes. In the first round alone, there's been 3 different players that had 4 or more threes in game: Dungo, KQ and now David. And plenty more are capable and willing shooters: Earl, Vhoris and Jcee.

Scary thing is CJ still hasn't been completely healed back to 100%, and Konov hasn't played much.

I was able to see a video from another angle and it seems that Topex did not spit on that UP player. Sorry to the UP posters here but I notice that UP is becoming a bad loser.

Another ex Baste player Calvin Abueva was once accused of spitting (Mapua player Pascual). Abueva vehemently denied it at first. But when ABS-CBN showed the replay, Abueva apologized.

I’ve seen and heard how physical/dirty of a player Topex was. But at this point of his professional career as a coach. It is unimaginable for him to do that.

Unless it’s a close up shot like that of Abueva, it is very hard to see if he did it.

Maybe put Torres and Topex in a lie detector test. Lol

What are the probabilities:

1. Topex did spit on Torres
2. Torres made it up specifically walking unusually close to Topex
3. There's other source of the spit:
3.a. Intentional
3.b. Unintentional
4. There's no spit, honest mistake by Torres

Feel free to add.
