UAAP season 87

  • Thread starter Thread starter Silent Killer2
  • Start date Start date
UE with 4 straight wins. They won with an injured Galang whos arguably been one of their best players. Finding ways to win by being creative and using diffrent type of zones.

They have been a well coached team. Who actually play a somewhat modern offense. If they beat ADU and finish round 1 with 2 loses. Theyd be in the driver’s seat for a F4 slot

I think its safe to say ADMU is virtually out of the running for an F4 slot. Which sad, because they are not doing too bad

terrible preparation with lots of issues left and right in tab’s worst season with admu..

Quitevis should be relegated to the bench, not really great on defense, and zero offense. Tentative even when all alone on a 3 point shot. Should play Femi Edu more.

I don't know if "preparation" is the accurate word. Maybe "not staying on top of things" is more applicable. So many unexpected early pro departures and transfers. Unlike UP and DLSU where there have been instances of their players planning to leave or go pro early, it somehow gets publicized and then they are convinced to stay. With ADMU, it seems to be a surprise and then they're already gone.

The FSA situation though looks like lack of preparation/foresight. The one groomed to replace Kouame only had 1 year left to play. Then no clear one after that (it's wild that they already had Momowei and another one who's now in D1). Despite all the headlines being about other players, that FSA spot was the most important one that they can't fumble (the defensive anchor for a defensive team). That lack of a big man was the nail in the coffin with the sudden departure of Balungay, Chiu and Amos.

Silver lining though, if they get one by next season (or the current one drastically improves), then the whole team improves considerably.

I had an opportunity to watch a few minutes of the 1st half between Lady Eagles vs. the Lady Warriors

also had the chance to watch the sequence wherein Kacey Dela Rosa launches her very first 3-Pt. shot of the season

it reminds me of RDO's high arching form, kindah difficult to block actually.

I hope she could continue practicing those stuff as part of her arsenal

she is already one of the pillars of Gilas Women and those stuff are badly needed

the good thng is the current ADMU coach is a visionary and fully aware the immense talent of KDR

A consistent outside shot would not only enhance Ateneo’s system but also align with their long-term vision for Dela Rosa – which includes her becoming a Gilas Pilipinas mainstay and potentially playing abroad.

We want her to shoot from the outside, not just for Ateneo, but because our goal is for her to play for the national team and maybe secure an international contract,” said Mumar.
“We’re not just thinking about Ateneo for Kacey. We’re looking at her future, so we encourage her to take those shots. She’s been working on it, and when she’s open – banat.”

nbl 1/ wnbl contract..

Commiting to 4 teams in the UAAP is crazyyy. IMO, UE could have given him the best opportunity out of schools he commited after DLSU. I mean FEU is even better than UST in terms of opportunity.

literal campus tour, lol, gonna rot behind all those one and dones UST is acquiring

"Alao initially enrolled with FEU in the first week of September but could not attend classes due to inclement weather, which eventually led him to commit to the Tigers." how many playing years are left? he enrolled to feu according to vasitarian. Is it still 3 years or it will be One and Done season for him? dlsu ➡️feu 2 years. feu ➡️ust 2 years

Dont think so. Forthsky, Estacio, and Kyle P have only 1 playing year left once Alao becomes eligible. Dont think Honrada is still with UST while Competente already left.

Don't you think in a span of 2 yrs they won't get another high-caliber recruit with how their team is growing right now?

The 1st year, which is this year, they will most likely recruit another blue-chip recruit.

The 2nd year (S88) he will be a back-up to Forthsky, Estacio, Paranada, and who knows that blue-chip recruit they will get this year will be a superstar PG in highschool too.

Any player can commit with them now that Al Chua is at the helm.

Alao is a damaged good right now.

He was once a good recruit too with his Gilas youth stint, but he was the last point guard option in that team (JHouse's backup).

He had a chance to play in a competitive program with DLSU but could not make the team.

He has a chance in a rebuilding program FEU but left, UE seems to give everybody a chance especially when their best player always leaves.

Now, he is back to an upcoming competitive team that could give infinite money to a blue-chip recruit with SMC backing them up.

Feu has a good jrs program that will supply them talent they need. Ue is also aggressive in recruiting filams. Better to go where he has connections with the coach/management. Might be his best shot at opportunities.

Haha i wont be surprised if i see alao next year with csb or letran. Since he already toured Ubelt, maybe can try intra or return to taft lol

UE is good in using the next man's up strategy, when Paranada left, Remogat rises, after Remogat there comes Lingolingo.

you are right with FEU having a good jrs program but that is what killing them in Srs right now, they are all young and need a vet PG (well, in terms of age but not in UAAP games, Alao comes in). Also FEU jrs program right now seems to be leaning in their big man position (Burgos, Cabonillas, Carino).

Lastly, I remember Ludovice is still with the UST Cubs program.

An U16, U17, U18 and BWB asia stint makes him a blue-chip recruit, I think UST will give anything to him just for him to transition in their Seniors program.

If that happens, Alao will be much more likely a backup again. Since next year he will be a backup, then on Ludovice's 2nd year with UST he might end up a backup again.

Gonna watch the game on sunday . First live game this year wanna see the physicality of UP in person . They are borderline hacking at the gaurd spot .
