Crazy ending on that NU game, sucks that they didnt show the replay of that last foul since the nu bench were obvioisly reacting negatively to it while being shown. And when it seems like NU was gonna be screwed again by the basketball gods, here comes pasaol missing his first 2 fts haha. Dude need to inherit his big bro's confidence.

That was months ago and it was a small sample size albeit against tougher competition. We're looking at his progress in the UAAP. I'm certain he'll get even better with his work ethic.
The sample size of Two uaap games and three FIBA games isn’t that far apart . Given reps and mins.

It’s just that his role moving forward wil be closer to Fiba.

Yup , i guess that’s the difference . He was too good for the UAAP last year . He can get away with things here but once the margins get smaller with ball handling and creating . i’m not sure if he’s improved enough. That he can be a secondary creator and initiator of offense from the perimeter .

The abc 5 coverage of uaap lol, why do you want to broadcast games late at night

Just as I thought, UP's bigs will be challenged by stronger, more skilled big men. Too bad there's only one Momowei for UE.

So far, UE Gani Stevens > UP Gani Stevens. He and Alter are most affected by QMB's one-and-done year.

QMB is a game changer. He's the type of player that dominates the game without scoring. As UP's bench faltered what was almost 30 pt lead, he got inserted back in the line up and he's proceeded to get a hand on the ball of every rebound and altered all the shots at the rim.

Here's to hoping he plays for Gilas.

During that crucial moment against NU where he consecutively scored, he attacked the rim for a layup. The higher level he plays in, I think his one-handed push shot will be more useful than going all the way to the rim. He gets good ball control with those big hands.

Most of the time, driving to the rim is about who can get "lower." It's easier to blow by defenders if you can get your shoulders lower than theirs. Since KQ is big for our standards where we have short players in the perimeter, he isn't blowing by people with ease. Backing down these smaller players or just rising over them is more efficient. When they do put a bigger guy on him, he usually has the ability to blow by them.

His handles are not elite though. That's why I think best fit for him is a system that doesn't over-dribble. Systems that use movement without the ball and passing which is one of his forte.

I don’t necessarily believe it’s a height thing, Kevin durant is tall for example but he’s able to get low, I just think he doesn’t have the flexibility to get lower without losing balance maybe. In the uaap since he’s bigger he’ll be able to bully his way through but at higher levels I think it won’t be as easy

UP got complacent and put too many players that had no business on the court. When UE was trying to make a comeback, UP inserts QMB and swats Momowei's shot right away. QMB could've dominated more if not for early foul trouble.

I bet you were hoping for a UE upset against UP.
That's not gonna happen until UP faces the coco levy fund squad from DLSU.

UP blowing UE to smithereens despite major foul trouble with its main bigs, an atrocious FT shooting performance, and Gold experimenting especially in the 4th. Could be better, but UP just might peak at the right time this time.

Most Fil Foreigners / Pinoy from abroad seem to be still finding their groove in the UAAP.

Alex Konov - was wax hot in Davao before going down due to injury. Cooled off since and right now doesn't seem to have anything else to offer. Not a good ball handler, playmaker, defender or rebounder.

Jacob Bayla - was marketed as some D1 level talent but he's just solid offensively but defensively is where he's shown the most promise.

Lian Ramiro - capable ball handler, playmer and shooter. Needs to be more aggressive if he wants to be a pro.

QMB - beast. Future star in the PBA and hopefully a Gilas mainstay. Offensively won't carry a team but he's a capable option. Defensively, he'll be welcome boost for Gilas.

I think QMB is not FIBA-eligible. It is Kamaka Hepa whom they say is FIBA-eligible. I just don't know how true & accurate that is about Hepa.

Between QMB & Hepa, I think mas may potential yung Hepa in my opinion.
