UAAP season 86

Watched live. That call was correct. It was a hard above the shoulder hit to KQ’s face. Going for the ball, but intent isn’t factored into unsportsmanlike foul calls anyway.

Based on Jack Santiago’s presscon remarks, simply put, Battad resigned because their petition to get the foul downgraded to a regular one wasn’t granted. He was also complaining that the suspension was formalized late yesterday — shouldn’t be an issue in my opinion since two unsportsmanlike fouls have always merited an automatic one-game suspension. Curiously, that wasn’t observed in Cagulangan’s and Alarcon’s cases (they both committed two UFs in the S85 finals series, but weren’t suspended)… but hey, I digress.

Thanks on providing the context. What's funny now is that some UP fans are up on arms with ue and adamson on this lmao

We just dont want a very difficult path for the title imo, although La Salle really is tough and we really need taht twice to beat advanatge against either of the two..

You guys are still too deep tho so if im a betting man, your guys will still win it. Its a matter of who'll face you, the Kq led dlsu or the wounded bulldogs, anyway how's their injured guys na pala? Are they playing na ba?

Oh. If true, the non-immediate application of automatic suspenses for Cagu and Alarcon should be reexamined. It should be the game after the 2nd unspo foul was called to make application of the rule uniform and without doubt.

This was the explanation of the UAAP, from Rappler’s Naveen Ganglani’s post: JD Cagulangan wasn’t suspended in UP’s first game this season following his unsportsmanlike foul in G3 of the S85 Finals because it wasn’t decided/announced by the prior commish in the 48 hour span after the game took place, which is a league rule.

No explanation about Alarcon, which I will assume means one of those unspo fouls called on him was downgraded? That’s the only reason I can think of.

Now, I’ve been watching the UAAP since before the rule on suspensions after committing 2+ unspo fouls was even implemented in 2013. I’ve never heard of that 48-hour period. The UAAP should really just release its rulebook to the public. It would reduce speculations about things like this.

adamson will win this game ...refs suddenly "loving" them ahahahaha

i'll say it now, refs will surely hand the game to taeneo vs lasalle ... final four in the bag

coach nash rant to the officials is still effective.... Leading at the start of the 4th quarter.. Hehe

Malonzo and omar john will be graduating for nu this season.

How old is john?
How many seasons played?

Coach Nash giving his alma mater a little favor. Now its time for his alma mater to return it on Saturday.

Preview for this weekends games:

FEU vs UST( Last hurrah for LJ, Anyone still think Nic gets offers abroad after this underwhelming season?)
DLSU vs ADMU (La Salle win virtually guarantees a twice to beat advantage unless the entire UP squad gets food poisoning or something, Ateneo is 4th seed with a win so Adamson is gonna be praying hard here)
ADU vs UE (Game is gonna depend a lot on the Ateneo result, Jerom's last hurrah?)
UP vs NU ( UP win secures the first seed, NU win with DLSU win is a three way tie with DLSU most likely at 1, 39 point NU win is required for a guaranteed 1 seed, NU win with a DLSU loss is twice to beat for NU)

Looks like former ateneo fsa godslove nwabude has a new team. Also has D1 offers in West Virginia and Radford(same school they faced early this year at WUBS). I remember him being obasa's backup in the preseason games. Former ceu fsa balogun should be obasa's replacement next year.

Prep? Meaning he is back in high sch? Sorry if its a stupid question

Yes i think so, makes me think tuloy if he already graduated high school when he was with ateneo. According to articles i read he's 19 this year, and in the states he's in the class 2024 recruits.

Not really sure din about the grade levels in the US so Correct me if im wrong, pero from what i know prep schools in the US are for those willing to go another year of hs to be better prepared for college(due to facing better opponents and higher academic standards(. Usually, the recruits that do this are the ones that have small amount of interest coming out of hs, so they do prep for a year, hopefully to gather up interest from more colleges.

How good is Balogun tho? He was not even in writeups by the media. They hyped Aguanne (former CEU FSA who also transferred to Lasalle) that much that Balogun wasn’t even talked about

So Xavy resigned already as Kume (doing leave of abasence this late in the season)
