UAAP season 86

La Salle almost choked. KQ finally playing like he is ready for the pros. Good to see Jonel finally get the minutes he deserve. Should have been him on CJ and not KQ.

KQ really is ready for the pro's. i think he is good enough for BLeague or KBL.

Lopez offense still raw, it was easy for DLSU to contain him on offense. If he reaches Cansino level, he will be very hard to stop.

i watched the game live yesterday both games. i'm convinced KQ is not 6'4" he stand shoulder to shoulder to Lopez, Pablo, Briones, Policarpio and Mike Philipps. these are listed 6'5" above, he's legit 6'6" max .. we have a future wing/SF Gilas.

Yeah, Quiambao looks 6'5". I did see a picture of him next to Allen Liwag (listed at 6'6"), and Quiambao looked shorter by a couple inches.

i think KQ is the true RDO v2.

At these level, KQuiam really needs to be expose in international level to improve some other aspects of his game, just need to improve more on his handles..the so-called x's and o's are already there..

Defense still needs a bit of work, despite all those blocked shots. He got beat by Policarpio on three consecutive plays at one point.

From the TV my guess would be:

Mike Philipps 6'8
Pablo 6'6 to 6'7
Lopez 6'5 to 6'6
KQ 6'5 to 6'6
Policarpio 6'4 to 6'5
Briones 6'4 to 6'5

I noticed this too. Not sure who was subbed to match up better, maybe Belmonte or Briones. Policarpio also seemed to have some problems on defense laterally. Not sure which UP guard blew by him.

lol at willie wilson putting some colors on jacob cortez watching the la salle game yesterday. can't blame them tho. no nelle and nonoy next year all the pressure will be on rubico.

four games remaining for Ateneo in the elimination round but I don't see them winning this time in the final four. there are even doubts if they will make it.

looks like Tab is on his way out.

Don't they still have David next season? Plus Alao (Is Alao still with them?) and Ethan Alian are true PGs. I think they have San Agustin as well.

Briones was also lost on defense though he never really switched to Policarpio. He was guarding Quiambao in his short minutes off the bench.

I guess that’s the problem with some of the players of both squads. The ones who are good offensively often still have a lot of defensive shortcomings. I noticed the same with Policarpio in DLSU and Belmonte of UP. Supporters of both teams wonder why both don’t have more playing time, and that’s the reason.

I don't think he will leave just yet. Tab still has one more year on his contract after this. Also, MVP (or Ateneo for that matter) is not the type to usually replace a coach after one bad year (see: Bo Perasol).

That said, I do agree that Ateneo's final four chances are getting bleaker and bleaker.
