UAAP season 86

among the two i think Espinosa is the better when it comes to defense. that's why CTB put him in the last minutes. Koon had a bad game yesterday give credit to UP's defense. UP is just too loaded, personnel wise for every situation. for me Geo Chiu is part of my mythical 5 bigs. him, faty, Ona, tempra and ojarike.hehehe.

Nice mythical 5. Hahahahahaha.

You guys need a proper frontline. Maybe recruit unknowns again?

they already have in the bench 3 6'5"-6'6" and some from the juniors projected 6'6"-6'8". good thing is Faty is one and done. also graduating Ona and Tempra..

Chris "Gilas starting PG" Koon with an epic 0/10 shooting against the Maroons. If you're going to get shut down in the college level in the PH, maybe you have no business donning the Gilas jersey?

A questio for everyone. Sino ang masasabi nyong coach of the year?

not nash racela or pido jarencio that’s for sure. Me thinks pido will be ousted, he’s just lucky that chua is preoccupied with gilas and the pba at the moment

Tab did talk some nonsense to justify bringing his players to Gilas when he was coach. Remember Milwaukee Bucks Angelo Kouame?

Any replacement for faty? Team b?

Geez! A moderator replying to a troll...what a shame:o

I believe that the idea that Koon is even a point guard is legit something worth revisiting. Troll or not. Ateneo has PG problems yet Koon doesn't get most of the run. That has to tell you something.

they surely miss padrigao, but he’s not worth the headache i guess

Ian Espinosa was also part of the Padrigao issue in Ateneo HS, but not much uproar about it.

The Ateneo fans are pissed at Espinosa's poor play, though.

Koon is good. He just needs Dave Idelfonsos muscles to survive against UP's physicality. Again, Koon was better than Dave last season and took over in the latter half of the season. Koon was particularly good in one game against UP until Cagulangan shoulder slammed him seemingly spraining Koons shoulder. Koons shooting disappeared in that game after that. I dont think Cagulangans physicality is Fiba legal at times in the games I saw last season. If that is an indication of the Maroon guards defense on Koon, I dont think it is fare to say Koon will do bad against Fiba defense.

biases showing in the recent posts of this thread. reactionary takes (one game sample), sprouting hearsays and biases against a certain school (can be a certain coach) taking over thorough and unbiased analysis? especially when we try to promote more healthy opinions rather than flamebaiting of these trolls. what happened to the game (IBN) I loved says Mark Jackson

I agree Koon is good, but thats different from Koon being a point guard. I like his defense in particular.

Koon's midrange game is really good and at his height, no one should be able to defend him at the college level. Wasn't able to watch the game completely last time so I can't say if UP really defended him well or it was one of those off-nights. I recall at one point in the third quarter that Koon and Balunggay was 1/17 combined.

koon looks like a plug and player off the bench . Shouldn’t be good enough to start for Gilas. The 3 spot for Gilas is looking solid with Dwight , KQ -, JB and Jaime when he slides down. Tamayo is a 4

I had the privelage of watching the full game of NU vs. DLSU and anticipating that it will be a preview(?) of the Final Four match-up but it seems that NU was not on it’s usual element and DLSU are on a mission that day. No thanks to the injury bug that’s bugging coach Jeff are experiencing right now, (it’s really a bad timing considering the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round is the critical stage of the tourney. I was not totally surprise KQ’s historic performance, as I said many times before that lad is a gym rat and his off-season personal training is just the beginning of many good things. What surprise me really is jonel policarpio, I really do hope coach Pitbull and staff will develop their full potential alongside Raven the way they’ve done to Balti. If coach Jeff and his staff plays there cards right those hafu kids like 6’4 Bobby Mark Parks and 6’3 Joemark Gulapa can be develop as a two-way perimeter players alongside 6’6 RJ Palacielo, 6’4 Ken Padriones, 6’3 Jake Figueroa and 6’7 Drex Delos Reyes can be a solid guys moving forward hoping no major injuries nor attitude problem on those kids ..oh boy!! the way I see it those Bulldogs will be very dangerous for the coming seasons.

Because of the emergence of jared brown, Ateneo can now decide to really cancel Padrigao..
