Turkish Prospects

Sturdy and heavy. Most likely will be too rigid (average by all means) at PROs. There's no typical intangibles of high upside prospect.

We had prospects like Tomas Balciunas, who was treated as big prospect as 15-16yo (Barca took him) and he didn't even make NTs further (U18-U20, if I'm not mistaken). Never even became LKL players, plays in NKL or else where. The same Tauras Jogela became the MVP of U16 EB, but later just became average.

Lesson is, never hype a prospect with heavy legs and beefy built. BB is a red flag sports for this (if there's any sports suitable for that). Unless it's Jokic (he was fat, but his legs paradoxically never was heavy), like BB miracle, it's almost certainly the case of nothing.

Watched a bit more stuff though. He's gifted. There might be something. Some real. He has some interesting tools. If his physicality will translate well he can be a good player.

Where do you see heavy legs? Sure, he is not the fastest but he is not slow either. He obviously has impact on both ends. It looks to me that he no weakness at all.

Well, what I'm trying to say - he's big. Like he is pretty beefy, specially compared to kids around who looks like midgets. So he is super big for his age. So the question is - will he continue to grow, to get bigger cause his built is already at least like 18yo and he's still 15yo. It's a typical early bloomer case in my eyes. But he has skill and talent. If he will prove that he can develop his physicality further, he can be a baller. But he may just be more of a finished product nearly and in early stages he will be meh physically when other will caught up and exceed.

You are not a finished product with 15. His talent and maturity is rather a sign for greatness but we will have to see him against real competition first.

Exactly. He is surely bigger than others and competition is questionable. There are glimpses of explosiveness, but it seems competition is weak. It's not clear how tough he is, how he leans into real contact and all. And main concern. Most high upside prospects are thinner, smaller as 15yo. All Giannis, Flag, Buzelis were super thin (sausages) compared to this guy. But he has a talent. I believe he will lack a degree of athleticism somehow, but we'll see. He won't be as good as those top players (obviously slower), but he is interesting, has a lot of feel for the game. And again those highlights can be way off hand in very low levels. But he has something.

he has a shade of young Jokic in him :D But that alone doesn't yet mean mega tier. Murauskas also had that as 15yo.

I just watched some types from his Instagram, I think he is more shooting oriented than Flagg. Looks like a shoot first guy like Jabari Smith Jr.

He moves like flagg with the ball but let's not forget that flagg is a generational athlete and that alone kills the comparison

Absolutely. It's not an NBA level or pre-draft comparison. It's just like vague "what vibes or resembles he brings in this unknown context of level". This guy's best chance to be great is to have a lot of Jokic in him. Flagg is truly exceptional athlete and this guy is not close. But his crossovers, change of directions, certain strides and his handles reminds Flagg a bit.

You are missing the point. It doesnt matter if he is on the level of Flagg or not. What matters is that he can do everything on the court. He has touch around the rim, his shot looks amazingly good, he can handle the ball and he reaches every spot that he wants to reach. The kid is pure talent.

NBA player comparisons for 15 year old guys are nonsense anyway.

And we dont want two three superstars more. We had them with Turkoglu, Okur and Ibrahim Kutluay and even Mirsad Türkcan and neither the TBF nor the player himself could find a solution. We need two stars and solid role player around them.

That last sentence is a bullshit. We want as many superstars as possible. Id much rather have the problem of riches than poor. Team chemistry can be created. Especially considering the ages, we will have Sengun as the clear leader/best player and Osman as the captain/emotional leader of the group while these young guys find themselves.

Early 2000s issue wasn't that we have so much talent or anything. It is that we had a coach who wasn't flexible to play to the strengths of his players. He alienated Okur, not the teammates.

Also superstar doesn't mean selfish guys. Alpi is one and he is far from selfish. Lebron might be the Goat and he is one of the most selfless players out there (in court).

No believe me, we had it between 2001 and 2010. It turned out into a fight between players which is why Mehmet Okur and Mirsad Turkcan never came to play.

Sure but players like hedo and mirsad were like the worst characters to have inside a locker room

I don’t believe you can have too many stars especially atm when we consider that the talent pool has shrunk a lot over the last few years. So it would make up for the lack of chemistry, even if that were the case

Well, I dont say I am against any good development but Turks cant normally handle these ego fights. Yeah Sengün is a good character but we dont need another Sengün. We need a star guard and maybe a star level forward. There is only one ball and beside two creators you need good role player thats all.

You guys are missing the point. What I was trying to say is you can also win everything with a solid European base. Instead of saying ohhhh Demirözü is not Cooper Flagg what a pitty I rather say he has solid potential and with two difference makers more than enough.
