Sure, but definitely not as PG. He is going to be a Tweener as his current skill-set promises. No coaches have given that role to him in serious games. Better stick him to the position he can display his skills at maximum. SF/PF.

Well I didnt watch many games of him but in the u16 tbf international tournament he played as a playmaker. And with 198cm he wont play PF. Do you have a source referring to OAK-Hill?

Batin Tuna isn´t a PG, he is a SF/G.

Efes always wins these turkish championships but they don´t always have talent. U14 winner 2002 generation has no talent, this 03 generation with no talent etc. For Efes it´s only important to win, not to develop potential kids. But the 05 generation(winner of U14) of Efes is good.

Jokic is 208(without shoes) & 220 wingspan, Koralp 200 with no future. Koralp has no chance to play PF and no chance to play C. More skilled/even shorter version of Ahmetcan Duran with no chance at pro because he can´t defend anything.
15 months younger Yigit Hamza Mestoglu is already a much better player as Koralp and has 10 times better future.....

The most interesting turkish player in the 03 generation is Hamza Celik(PF). But i have no hope for him either because he is too soft and thin. Great shooting potential, body potential and high IQ.
 
The U15 tournament has ended today and we lost the final against LTU. Refs were a bit unfair but this was expected. Büyükcangaz impressed me the most. Very fluent, very good speed and direction change for his length. If i am not mistaken he is like 203 with 15 years. Passing is ok, court vision is ok, shooting is not very bad but he needs to work on it. A really uncommon dody measures. A ball handling at that level with 15 and with this length is really not common.

Our team is really tall in general but sucks playmakingwise especially without büyükcangaz on the court. Mestoglu was the second surprise. Very safe shooter especially from the free throw line. Banvit knows how to raise bigs. Shootings were a catastrophy. Despite the fact Büyükcangaz created much space for shooting most of the 3 point attempts ended up as airballs. We need bigs though i dont mind.

But the real surprising thing is his similarity to Dimitris Diamantidis, not only his playing style and his height but also his look. He could be his son.

If I envied ever a greek player it was not Giannis, Papaloukas or Spanoulis but Dimitris Diamantidis. Its of course too early to talk about a 15 year old guy but it would be great to get a player like him in the future.
 
By end of his physical development we could have 2.01 - 2.03 PG.
But his birthday doesn't convince me again. He might be 2002-2003 born player.

I read this many times but how is this possible in Turkey? Maybe on the Syrian border. His face looks very childish thouh.

it was possible for a while, but not sure if it still is. My own birthplace (not the date) is incorrect in my ID, because my father for some reason registered me in his village. and yeah, that village is right on the Syrian border :D

Eray does indeed look a lot like 3D. Hope it inspires him.

Eray Büyükcangaz is about 196, Haktan Yavas 201, Yigit Hamza Mestoglu 198, Efe Tahmaz 195, Berke Büyüktuncel 200, Derin Mark Saran 170, Göktug Gücoglu 190

Eray is not the caliber of talent that deserves its own thread. He was our best player in that tournament, maybe he showed the most potential but he is not special. He has decent vision and IQ. His potential is good(not huge) but with this lack of playmaking skills and IQ its very problematic.

Efes had again 3-4 players in this team and again decent players, untalented PG Yigit Tekin(but good athlet), Tan Yildizoglu(ex-Efes guard), Karahan Efeoglu and project big Berk Kagan Tiryaki.

Derin Mark Saran was not nominated. Its very sad that he is so small and has a body structure of a 10 years old kid. He has special talent, with normal height & body he is the best prospect.

Efe Tahmaz` style is close to Uros Trifunovic and he is at this stage clearly more talented as Eray Büyükcangaz(but Eray is better athlete) but its not important who is more talented, important is that both are talented and good prospects for turkish BB, in 1-2 years 2 6´7-6´8 very versatile talents. Efe´s situation at Partizan is just problematic.

Berke Büyüktuncel was missing due a foot injury. He is a very interesting PF and is born in September. Göktug Efe Gücoglu(SG) was also injured.
 
Banvit confirmed that it will lift all young players to bsl level next season. Alperen Sengün, Sadik Kabaca and Atakan Erdek should make it to the next level. Especially if Sengün makes it to bsl with 17 i am sure hell end up in the nba. BSL is his last obstacle but i am not sure if hes ready but lets give it a try.

Guys what happened to Egemen Guven? Back in the days many thought that he was a player with a legit NBA potential and he even was chosen as a U-18 Eurobasket MVP too. Then he didn’t play much for Karsiyaka during the times they won a TBL Championship and played in the Euroleague. Where is he now and what is he doing with his career? How did he end up like this?

Shortly said too many injury's, too lazy. Was sitting around 3 years... and last season he played offensively well but defense is bad, very bad.

yeah, I was in the process of correcting it but you beat me to it.

What do you think about Erkan Yilmaz, ex-Bandirma player? He's signed with Besiktas for the next season. Can he be a significant player? I used to like him very much in the u18 team, but then lost track. He apparently did well in the 2nd league (which does not tell me much, tbh).

A very athletic player and seems to be a late bloomer. He indeed did very well but TBL is a different level than BSL. BJK did the right thing. We need a bigger player pool and he can be a good option, altough we have many guys as small forwards. A good role player at best.

I watched the U20 Turgut Atakol tournament of our guys and btw. Yigitcan Saybir seems to be developed from a non shooter to a pure shooter. He is a bit undersized for power forward but he is athletic enough to fill the gap with his athletisizm.

Bitim was also very active but his lack of choice was imminent unfortunately. I haven gave up on him yet but his next decision will be crucial for his career.

Hazer shows potential to be a more athletic Sloukas. Had the most assists of the tournament but lacked finishing at the rim and his free throw ratio is still horrible.

Wanted to give you a short summery since you are interested in turkish player unlike the others :D
 
That's a good quick summary, thank you. I used to like Yilmaz's fearfulness the most, unlike his (too) timid peers.

Bitim is really a rare talent, but he seems to be more concerned about his girlfriend's vlog, so I don't know what to expect. Did he sign anywhere? He's gotta do something significantly more impactful real quick.

Well I think he part ways with his GF and Karsiyaka seems to be interested but he hasnt signed anywhere yet. The U20 tournament of Fiba is about to start and a good tournament would help him a lot. Another issue Serkan Erdogan (the coach of U20) and Onuralp bitim hate one another. I hope they can both find a solution.

I really refuse give up on him because hes really talented but an idiot.
 
OK our U20 roster for the anual U20 Fiba tournament is fix now. Tirpanci and Mert Konuk are out.

Our only weak spot is the Center position from the bench. Emre tanisan is a catastrophe and i am also not happy with taking Erkin Senel to Israel but we should be one of the contenders anyway. More importantly is Onuralp Bitims attitute. If he shows that hes willing to take basketball seriously again, the tournament will be worth it.
