I believe it was the assistant coach of Efes who was once was invited through Skype on a Greek basketball show. He mentioned it in that show when they were discussing the future agenda of Efes. At least I am positive that another youngster of Efes was the same age as Osman. Either Korkmaz or Ulubay.
It is for Ulubay yes. He is 95' born guy but there is nothing wrong with the age of Korkmaz.
We've heard age falsification story about many players (including Sipahi), but that's the first time I hear anything about Korkmaz. The other player might be Emircan Kosut, born in 95, who also played in a few EL games.I believe it was the assistant coach of Efes who was once was invited through Skype on a Greek basketball show. I really doubt Korkmaz's age is falsified.
PS. Ulubay's age was corrected from 97 to 96 after a funny incident. i don;t remember details but I think his mother or father, after a divorce, wrote a letter to NT, complaining that they actually registered him 1 year after birth. So it was not a falsification, but late registry with wrong date. Okben was then expelled from u16(?) roster.
Maybe, but I doubt it's one-sided. The teams that brought/hired them obviously wanted to use the opportunity when these kids were being given citizenship and they just tweaked a few data, including birth datesAge falsification is not the problem of Turkish players. We've heard these stories because young players who come from Balkan countries want to make a good impression among Turkish basketball and register their ages by performing falsification.
Nowadays maybe. I've also been hearing from reliable sources that practice has stopped for a while now. But it wasn't always the case. We've had many Turkish players with falsified ages in the past, but they're either retired or getting retired these days.I am really into Turkish prospects and I can easily say there is no age falsification between ethnic Turkish players.

Well, if a player isn't made soon enough, you can see what happened to Markoishvili - he would never get the chance he did and become a player he became if people wouldn't believe he was a 86' born (is actualy 84' I was told). How anyone other benefits here, isn't completely clear to me, player and his manager obviously do, it could be it's some sort of a favour to some manager etc.Since we are talking about age, today is my birthdayThat practice has stopped because the power of Balkan lobby on Turkish basketball has decreased. Nihat İziç. I just can blame him about all the age falsification. He is responsible of Turkish youth basketball program and he is behind of all these stories. I don't know how does he get benefit from this type of recruitment.

Happy birthday, then
Now I just remembered we used to have happy b-day threads here at IBN... I guess we were too few then .
Here is the scouting video of Tolga Geçim. He is the brightest Turkish prospect. Definitely better potential than Osman, Ulubay and Korkmaz. Look at his court vision. He has a court vision like Spanoulis or Teodosic. I want him to be main character in National Team.

Better potential than Korkmaz ?Korkmaz's athleticism alone makes him way better prospect than that kid
I like Korkmaz too but this guy's court vision makes his potential limitless. Players with high basketball IQ makes difference. I hope both will be good stuffs for NT.
We are talking about POTENTIAL you can teach how to pass, how to shoot but cant teach athleticism and length also Korkmaz is a very good shooter, his athleticism and lenght says he has alot more potential than that kid
He has a name and I am sure his name is not kid. Tolga Geçim. How many games of Geçim did you watch and talking about him?
