Unfortunately Adem Bona got an injury in the U17 training camp. He will be out for a half year due to a shoulder injury. No U17 wc and U18 EC for him this year.

Also. Do you know anything of the Amar Sylla injury in Belgium. Trying to learn more about it. Cannot find much information online.

Looks like he trained during off season :D

This interview shows how intelligent Yigit Hamza Mestoglu is. Nowadays you can´t find a 16 years old player which knows that Bodiroga was the best player, his choices Tim Duncan and Mike Batiste are impressive too.

He was the most skilled turkish big in Turkey but here he says in Turkey he played as traditionnel big, this is not correct. For a turkish big he was super skilled and had the freedom in his team, in Bandirma. He dominated the U15 championship in 2018 with 14 years and was MVP and clear cut best player, you can follow the games on youtube, you can´t find a turkish big with this offense.

Now in Spain, of course he will play even more modern bb and he will work on his physical shortcomings. This video https://twitter.com/Kuzeykg/status/1293602597149052933 shows a much fitter Yigit Hamza Mestoglu. Height is the key for him.
The most skilled turkish bigs are from Bandirma, Alperen Sengün, Hamza Mestoglu and the best turkish prospect Demir Dogan(06), most likely he will end up as 210-215 PF with PG skillset.

Efes has now 3 big prospects. Berkay Dönmez(05, SF/SG), Mehmet Efe Demirel(05, PF/C), Muhammet Emin Kara(06, C). Last season Emin Kara showed a bit face up game but this season he was traditionnel big........typical Efes, for Efes is development not important. In Bandirma all 3 players would play complete different style......

Lol, our girls in VB won the U19 European Championship by beating Serbia 3:2. I should really switch watching women VB. Anyway, happy victory day to my fellow Turks and congrats to the girls.

In the first game of the Cevat Soydas Tournament BJK defeats Tofas Bursa 99:95.

BJK: First of all the impressions about Alperen Sengün. He is surely stronger than last season. Can fight with any big in BSL now despite being newly 18. He finished with 19 points with 9/10, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks. Especially 3 of his 4 assists were very impressive. He has some Jokic in him. The only problem that I saw... he could have problems with his not very slow but slow legs.

Would say he is already the best center in BSL and last doubts about his readiness next season for EL also vanished.

Berk Ugurlu was the guy on Tofas side despite having made 2 big mistakes at the end.

If you want success then you need big talent. You must development your best talents in the right way. If you want success then you need Alperen Sengün, but not with the playingstyle like in Besiktas. His body in this season is better but he needs to lose more weight and he must start to take 3s, if he doesn't start take 3s then he will never reach the level he could. For the best development he must go immediately to the NBA. In Europe he will always have his impact but as fat, slow with limited offensive style. You need big talent for success in NT.

Good players in preseaon are Göktug Bas(01). Turkish players have no vision, Metecan Birsen, Berkan Durmaz, Burakcan Yildizli, Berk Demir etc. are candidates for PF in NT, all those players have no stabil 3p shot. Without good 3p shot you have no chance for good level as PF. For me it would be not a big surprice if Göktug Bas is a better player in 2 years as this weak PF-material. Göktug Bas shows unbelievably vision for a turkish player, he could stay in Efes and earn 2-3 years good money but he decided to play therefore he is in Ankara. You can´t see such a move from a turkish player, no way. Ismail Karabilen, Tarik Sezgün are the other bigs of the 01 generation and had more potential but both have big weaknesses and not playable as pros at this stage, but Göktug Bas with his development shot and his fearlessness.

Sadik Kabaca(00) showing good things too, too talented for a turkish big. He needs more stability, he must learn how to play etc. Could be one of the best turkish players in some years but could end up as bust too. He ist soft, but not at a Ismail Karabilen, Tarik Sezgün, Egemen Güven, Ayberk Olmaz etc level.

Kilicarslan Senkahya(00) is another big. He will play in the second division this season for Denizli. This player has the best bb-body since Ömer Asik, he is 208-9 with great athleticism, soft touch but no experience. And he is not soft. Could surprice in some years.

https://www.instagram.com/goktug.gucoglu/?hl=de It looks like Göktug Efe Gücoglu(04, SG) will play this year in Turkey, last year he was in the USA. He is a bit unknown but that is not important, he is one of the best turkish talents. His height is not perfect but a real shooter/scorer with massive/strong body but also fast legs, his priority is to shoot but he has fast drives, fearless and strong(fearless and strong is not normal for turkish players). He could be one of the stars of the U19 league(BGL) this year. I´m a big fan of him.

Wonderful start of Mert Akay in the Serbian league. He was top scorer in the first game of his team with 24 points 3/6 from three, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in 34 minutes. He turned the ball over 4 times but had also 3 steals. The first season was adaptation but this season i expect far better stats. Knocking on the wood we shouldnt get overexited though.

Vulikic left for USA so Akay will play a lot this year. He literally has no competition at his spot. That's the most important thing. Their roster will have absolutely no imperative of result (unfortunately) which is again a very big plus for a young point guard. I also expect good games for him.

Former Bakirköy Basket now Istanbul Basket will play with the youth roster (BGL) of Efes in the second Turkish League (TBL). With this system they had built the 2010 roster but abolished it because it was too expensive.

This is the roster of Istanbul Basket: Enes Bayraktar, Mustafa Mert Tarla, Muhammet Ali Güneş, Yusuf Eren Akbıyık, Enes Gül, Yunus Emre Hamatoğlu, Şevket Gökdemir, Koralp Türk, Karahan Tuan Efeoğlu, Zekeriya Yiğit Tekin, Tolga Kay, Ozan Yılmaz, Tarık Sezgün

It includes 2003 and 2004 guys. Koralp Türk was in the states and might have come back I dont know but if he is back or not. The big written guys can make it to the higher levels/ guys that I like.

Foreign coaches for turkish players are always better as turkish coaches. Kemzura of Aliaga Petkim saw that Boran Güler(01, SG/PG/SF) is the best turkish player of the team and therefore he gives him minutes though he is so young. Boran Güler is not Ergi Tirpanci, Boran Güler has real solid talent and potential for EL and NT. Boran Güler is like the young Milenko Tepic, not the biggest talent but big potential for solid career. Born in November. Minutes without responsibility bring nothing, if you don´t give your player responsibility then the minutes have no meaning. Turkish players getting minutes without responsibility, this is the key.

Bora Yasar(03, PF) moved from Türk Telekom to Dacka, i don´t know that. Bora Yasar was last year one of the real interesting players in the U19 league. I saw him before 2 weeks against Fener´s A-team and he impressed me very much. We must see him in the U19 league, but i don´t know when this corona-show will end in Turkey. Born in November.

In this video you can see with blue shirt Melih Emre Tunca(born in October 05, PG, Efes), with yellow shirt Alp Sarikaya(05, SG, Fener). I´m a big fan of Alp Sarikaya, he is underrated but with big potential, he is childish and still just 15 and could add 2-3 inches. Melih Emre Tunca was a very talented PG but very small(about 168), now we can see he is even over 190, that´s of course very interesting but we must see how that effects to his game.

Mert Akay with a double double in the Serbian league in 20 minutes against a very weak opponent. 11 points and 10 assists with 2 turnover and 2 steals. 26 pir in 20 minutes. He has the role that i was always dreaming of. He made the right choise.

What a Pau Gasol performance of Alperen Sengün. He totally destroyed the paint of Galatasaray. He gets more and more verticality as he gets stronger, wonderful rebounder and decision maker. If the nba doesnt grab him hell be one of 2-3 best center in Euroleague and for sure the most skilled one.

Also Ercan Osmani showed his potential this time. A power forward with 6'11 and so mobile with long arms is predestined for higher levels. He is just not polished enough for now despite being 98 born. Must get stronger but insanely talented which can be said for any Bandirma big.

The third not ready but Euroleague starting player potential has Kabaca. Soft hands, wonderful nice release and an insane standing reach with relatively fast legs who can also put the ball on the floor for very short distances is very promising.

Only disadvantage of him is his high gravity point. He lacks balance because of this disadvantage. His slim frame limits him in too in the paint. He must work on shot creation from the mid range. No surprise Milano made an offer for him.

The Fenerbahce product Egehan Arna and Mehmet Yagmur killed the second half and BJK lost a game that they could win.

Alperen Sengün and Ercan Osmani dominated the paint as they wanted.

Alperen Sengün with 27 points with 80% FGP, 9 Rebounds (3 offensive), 1 assist (would be 5 in a normal team), 2 steals and 1 block. 36 efficiency

Ercan Osmani also with 27 points but 69% FGP, 8 rebounds and 2 assists.

I am fan of Galatasaray . However watching Beşiktaş is much more enjoyable than GS. I believe Turkish players deserve more minutes
I hope Alperen will getting stronger in the future and he will play for national team as a center .

I have just watched an interview about Mert . Very big decision for young player . I hope he can develop himself in Serbia and will play in cervena zvezda or partizan .

Weird stats of Mert Akay this week 13 points (5/7 fgp) but just one assist against Pirot. We dont need a scorer, we need a play maker.

Okben Ulubay played today against Split and had 13 points 4 rebounds, 4 assists in 26 minutes.

Another gem of Bandirma big school signed officially with Murcia. There was some beef between him and Bandirma...

Mert Akay made his third or fourth game for Dynamic Belgrade in the Serbian League KLS and had 4 points and 16 assists. He kinda is still forcing things especially his outside shot. He sometimes has his Calathes days like today with 0/6 from three.

Alperen Sengün did everything on the court, he fought against bigs like Haggins and Kikanovic, practically the entire roster of Ormanspor tried to stop him but he fought like a lion and 25 points, 15 rebounds and 2 assists. Nevertheless it didnt help.

Besiktas signed a 16 year old guy who is already 2,16m. His name is Samet Yigitoglu. I never watched him for very long and i cant say anything about him but they say that he is very mobile.

Since he has at least 1,5 years to grow he might end up like 2,21m.
