Turkish Prospects

Great news at last. The federation and the union of the teams have agreed on paying developing teams money for each transfer who is gonna be made from his 18-32 years. This rule will motivate smaller clubs to raise more prospects. Its not clear if the developing teams get a fix money or a certain percentage though

Here you can see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4NTKyZ8rxo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9gLX2lw7Eo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mok0YqdN79k with no 20 Ege Akcay(2006) from Dacka. Last season he played PG and was not top5 in his team but now he is best contributer of his team and of course by far best potential.

Like the other big potentials of the 06 generation he has the key-combination of skillset + body. If you have talent + big body for your position then you have better chances to take your contribution to the next level(from U14-16-18 etc.). Last season i had compared him to Tibet Görener because of the position(PG) and body but you could see Ege Akcay will grow more. Ege Akcay is about 195 and most likely will be too big for SF.

Other big potentials of the 06 generation have the same combination of skillset + big body, Demir Dogan(PF), Emin Kara(C), Yagiz Aksu(SG).

Üzgünüm, kazma Türk basketbolcunun sonu gelmis bulunuyor:D

The 2002 born 204cm tall turkish prospect Tibet Görener got an scholarship from the Arizona Wildcats offered. He is considered as a four star prospect and was the 20th best player in California. Arizona brought up with Ayton and Nico Mannion two important Draftees in the recent time.

Our boy Gorener commited to Arizona. He is a wildcat from now on.

He definitely needs to use his first year to bulk up significantly. From his age he could easily be a 2021 recruit. I will watch his development closely. He is one of the three prospect who i hope that they will reach the highest level. Good luck, kid!

Finally! Yurtseven declared for the draft 2020. I was afraid hell never leave the ncaa. :D

He had a solid season with 16 points and 10 rebounds average and is expected as an early second round draftee but he still has problems against bigger opponents. The only concern is his strength. Hell struggle especially defensively.

What happened to the Top 10-15 pick you were prognosticating when we discussed him? :D

Early predictions can always fail. I trust his skill set but he is not the youngest and has some points he needs to work on. And there is still Divac who can use a lottery pick for him. :D

More importantly than the draft position is the team that is gonna draft him and his development in the NBA.

Not much to see. Still not very advanced with his ball handling. He must become more fluent in action. This is also the reason why he has so many turnovers but this point doesnt concern me. He is not very explosive either but the threat to find the rolling big or other open man with his precise passes will make him able to drive to the rim.

His biggest weapon is his ability to pass. Great accuracy and timing in finding the rolling big. His size, strength and wingspan should give him the opportunity to defend all positions from 1-3. Looks also very solid in transition.

I hoped he could extend his scoring abilities a bit but it doesnt look like that. Nevertheless scoring is not a problem for the national team. If he can minimize his unnecessary turnovers, become a better ball handler in time and proves his worth on the defensive end, he is undoubtedly the play maker that we have been looking for for years.

There are strong rumors that the Fenerbahce youth player Sarper David Mutaf (2002) is targeted by some ncaa teams. Arkansas and Minnesota Gophers are after him. His outstanding ability is shooting from all situations (off the ball, pull up, turn around fade away etc), shot creation is still limited but he can be a very good scorer. He can work with the ball a bit but surely not outstanding ball handler, can play some pick and roll, solid passer who has a solid length with 6'6 will most likely end up being 6'7.

He should leave Fenerbahce asap.

Good news for Fenerbahce and Tarik Biberovic. The needed papers for Tarik to play alongside Dixon as a turkish not naturalized player was given by FIBA after the Bosnian Federation set him free. Next season hell be able to play in BSL!

Bad news. Bandirma cant pay its second team in the second Turkish league anymore. It was a good plays for the guy who were to good for youth league and too bad for the super league

Dacka is about to sign Berke Atar who was playing in Macedonia the last months. He is really lucky to be coached by Ernak who is famous for letting young guys play.

He must take Basketball seriously. He is not a child anymore...

A surprise for sure. A given up Big seems to be working in the off season.

Emircan Kosut didnt play the last season because of a shoulder injury. A 216 giant who was quite mobile in the youth but just 98 kg obviously gained around 20KG and looks like this at the moment...

He is still 24 and anything is better than Erden :D

Hopefully, he will contribute and become an option in the short big rotation. We desperately need some bigs...

Good news. The intention to help developing clubs financially will come into effect from the next season. After every transfer the buying club also must to pay a certain amount to all the clubs the player was playing in the youth. 15k Lira for player till 25 and 30k Lira for older than 25. Its not big money but for smaller clubs it is a reason to develop more and the more you develop the more money you potentially and not just for a season but the entire career of the player.

Egehan Arna was/is one of the most talented players of the 95-97 generation, he is underrated. I wouldn´t be surprised if Egehan will end up this season as one of the best turkish performers of the league. Sehmus Hazer can contribute at NT but Egehan not, this is key, but after 1-2 seasons Egehan could be an important player for NT.

Disappointments are normal in this turkish system. Become a good player without playingtime:D...why is Bogdan Bogdanovic this player, because he led Partizan and then...step by step. In turkish system even a club like Galatasaray not giving a player like Yigit Arslan enough opportunities, now even Baris Ermis is there to steal Yigit important opportunities, this is turkish bb........Another big problem is turkish players have no vision, best last example is Ömer Faruk Yurtseven, lost 2 years for nothing. Always bad decisions, in NCAA Kriisa will have the ball in his hands, Tubelis and (Batcho) as big stars and our Tibet Deniz Görener will wait in the courners for the 3, this is typical turkish bb, without creativity/activity, just a helper.

If we compare the 96 generation with the 04 generation we can see the biggest difference at one point = creating the own shot. Only Okben could create his own shot, no Mert Cevik, no Yigit Arslan, no Ediz Oktay, no Berk Ugurlu, no Dogus Özdemiroglu, no Kadir Bayram, no (Tolga Gecim). If we look at the 04 generation almost all g/f can create its own shot, this is a revolution in turkish bb and stop creating helper-mentality.

Bandirma has the best youth system by far, not Efes. It would be a huge lost for turkish bb. BJK will get even the 2006-7 generation of bandirma with star-prospects like Yagiz Aksu(SG), Demir Dogan(PF), especially Demir Dogan is very special for turkish standarts. Alperen Sengün & Yigit Hamza Mestoglu are the most skillfull turkish bigs, the reason is because of Bandirma system and Demir Dogan is a huge prospect because of the Bandirma school, in Istanbul he would be never so skillfull. BJK even wants the incredibly talented but very small 05 PG Özgür Cengiz.

The 1999 born SG/SF Muhaymin Mustafa signed with the greek A1 club Ionikos Nikaias BK. He played for Tofas last season and changes the country because he wants a major role in his team. So 25-30 minutes and 15-20 ball usage. He was told from Turkish teams that he is too young and would get just a bench role.

Konuştuğum kulüplerden "Savunma yapasın, 3 numaranın back up'ı olursun" yanıtını aldım. TOFAŞ'a gelirken de Efes'ten alabileceğimin çok azına razı olmuştum. Basketbolcu isen oynamaktan zevk almalısın. Memur değilim ki paramı alıp oturayım.
* Kişisel olarak pandemiyi iyi geçirdim, kuvvetlendim, 5 kilo aldım, şutumu geliştirdim.

He here explains what the problem we have in Turkey. He is a very solid defender with his active legs and wingspan of 210cm and a very solid shooter who can also create for himself. Court vision and passing is very weak.

Unfortunately Adem Bona got an injury in the U17 training camp. He will be out for a half year due to a shoulder injury. No U17 wc and U18 EC for him this year.

What kind of shoulder injury was it?
