The new season has just started.

Day 1 results:

Manisa Buyuksehir Bld. 90 - 88 Bahcesehir Koleji
Yukatel Merkezefendi Bld. 77 - 93 Galatasaray Nef
Tofas 104 - 91 Samsunspor
Anadolu Efes 89 - 78 ONVO Buyukcekmece
Turk Telekom 72 - 68 Bursaspor Info Yatirim
Aliaga Petkim Spor 81 - 69 Pinar Karsiyaka
Darussafaka Lassa 64 - 61 Besiktas
Fenerbahce Beko 95 - 58 Cagdas Bodrumspor

the main takeaway from the first week is that Efes & Can is going to give a lot more minutes to the prospects. Melih Tunca with an impressive start. I expect him to get minutes in the EL as well.

The winner of the league qualifies for the next season's EuroLeague. dino game

In my posts from the previous season, I mentioned that despite McCormack having the highest potential in the Besiktas team, his importance was not fully understood by the staff, and the player was not being evaluated properly. I suggested that if he would get significant playing time for another Turkish team for one more season, he could excel that. The current situation seems to be progressing in line with what I said. As he started to get substantial playing time both at Darussafaka and Galatasaray, his performance improved day by day. Besiktas could have retained McCormack for this season for a reasonable amount, but not doing so was not a wise decision. Although Delgado meets the performance expectations set by the team, I would prefer McCormack's broad offensive variations over Delgado's dynamic pivotal play style. After Galatasaray acquired McCormack, they significantly improved their results in the league, thanks to his dominance in the paint. It's a great stroke of luck for them. McCormack will likely continue to perform at a high level throughout the season, and he will probably reach the Euroleague level next season as I anticipated.

This season, my favorite among the new players is Vernon Carey, along with McCormack. He was already a very promising player, and it was almost guaranteed that he would make a significant impact. However, adapting so quickly to European basketball is commendable. Unlike McCormack, he swiftly completed his adaptation process in his first year and started to make substantial contributions. He is enough mobile, has good strength, has good athletic abilities, and enjoys using his post game. If there is improvement in his occasional mid-range shots, he might find his way back to the NBA or a fresh start to Euroleague.

Always enjoy htus with moments of victory. I think every match has a bit of luck involved. Really fascinating! basketbros
