Shouldn't we vote Assange up so that we don't end up with embarassing "Chilean Miners" as the Men of the Year???

It was Mark Zurkerberg!! He's up there with Haile Selessie, Ghandi, Kennedy, MLK, Walesa, Mandela...

Big Roll Eyes for this choice by the editors :rolleyes::rolleyes:
-but I don't think much of TIME magazine anyway so..

I loved Time when they picked me for Person of the Year.

Seriously though, I also don't think much of Time. Or NewsWeek. Those used to be pretty interesting weekly magazines, but they really lack content now. They just do lots of fashionable things like "who's up, who's down" or "the week's winners" or "the week's losers." There is no investigative journalism and the editorials are consistently weak.

For Erdogan being the most voted till now according to Time magazine site, although Erdogan has some weight internationally in politics, he's no more significant than Karzai or Ahmedinajad. His stance on Gaza and worsening ties with Israel are significant developments, but support for Gaza is hardly unexpected as he is a Muslim party leader. Your citizens die in a boat, you react strongly. That's it really. But deserving to be Man of the Year because you defended your fallen citizens? And in an American magazine? C'Mon. This man kills hundreds of his own Kurdish citizens without even a second thought!!
WBB, I really respect you, but seriously what are you talking about!? I'm gonna hit my head on the wall now. Come on!

This voting results are just bs, apparently Turks vote like Lithuanians, only we are much larger in number!

I can see that Assange lead the vote for Time magazine's Person of the Year. But despite that lead, the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg was the one who got the title. Well, I think he is a genius and he deserve it.

I understand you're sharing your views on influential individuals and events in 2010. It's interesting to see you mention choosing a "Person of the Year." Have you considered using time calculator to compare and evaluate candidates?
