the wild card for an asian team

is not impossible, they still have a lot of good players, but I don't see them getting The GOLD.

I think, what they have might still be enough for a bronze medal

Al HORFORD, FRANCISCO GARCIA, CHARLIE VILLANUEVA and LUIS FLORES are practicing with the Dominican team right now. But Trevor Ariza and Sammy Mejia couldn't join them. if they qualify though both maybe with the Dominican NT sooner than later.

would a C team include great Argentian players? the A team is well known the B team would be a lot less so the C team I am concluding would not be enough for them to do anything I guess, also the Dominicans seem to have a good roster just as Puerto Rico are a good team with Arroyo and Ayouso they need some better inside help.
Anyway the competition seems 2 be so tough this year.

but remember that we are talking about Argentina here, Even their D teams are good, Obviously is nothing like their A team, but know Argentina is Argentina.

Argentina's C team should have no problem mathing up against most Asian's A teams

Well their U19 team has some really good players but I doubt that their C team can give a good performance against Asians A team this is Argentina man and not USA and after looking at the rosters of Brazil, Dominicans and the rest of the teams in the Zone they are no easy teams. I am expecting a very tough competition hopefully.
 
For all members, i think Lebanon has a big chance now to reach WC 2010 after Brazil, Argentina, Puerto Rico and Canada qualified from Fiba America....
So no wild Card will be given to an team from this Zone specially that no other team has the criteria(4 main points to get a wild Card) or advantage to take a wild Card over Lebanon.

As for Dominican republic( they have no history in the last decade in Fiba)
For Venezuela their results are bad in this championship....not participating in the pre-olympics like Lebanon....Lebanon win over venezuela in the last Fiba world 2006....geographically we r close to Turkey and would benefit them more than Venezuela.... weak point: Venezuela is 22 i guess and we r 24 in ranking.

but overall we r the favorite to get a wild card over these 2 teams...

For Europe, last World 2006 9 teams reach (3 wild card bet)
no team deserved to qualify other than those 9 teams....
Now as we know 6 qualify directly from their Zone.
Positive thing is that Turkey are the host so it means minimum 7 teams qualified so , by this 2 wild card will be given to Europe if no surprise and one of big teams didn't qualify...

they will be 2 other wild card and the favorite are Nigeria and Lebanon ...
So let's hope no surprise in Fiba Europe happen....coz we r close guys...
 
I watched the whole tournament and I can say with confidence that the Loblanese should not get the Wild Card. They just play very normally. As an Iranian who supports Lobonon, I must vehemently say that they do not deserve to get the Wild Card. :mad:

I think the Wild Card should be given to Ordan. They very unpredictable and they fight good. And their number 7 kick very strong..... from front and back. I think he should have get the MWP of the tournament. I don't know why he didn't get it! :confused: Plus, their coach speak very loud....

But if not Jordon, it should go to Ghattar. They sent one of our players to hospital and knocked anohter one out. So I think they should be given special consideration.... but only after Hordon

Hordon already qualified and ghattar finished 6...so i guess Lobonon have a better position to take a wildcard if asia is to be given one

it's totally unfair..why both asian and african zone will get only 3 spots for wbc and 2 or 3 slots on wildcard while american champs with only 10 participants, will 4 slots in wbc with 3 slots in wildcard??:mad:

Yepp it's obvious that you watched the african Championship not the asian 1 :eek:

Jordan already qualified to WC !!
 
Guys we know that Lebanon should deserve the wild card slot for geographical and performance qualifying reasons and being consistent in this decade for the oncoming World Championships in Turkey but as of the moment Croatia, Dominican Republic and maybe Germany and Lithuania will be more competitive on the World Championships for marketing reasons due to their NBA talent players and they will give the other qualified teams a run for their money

croatia is already there u mean russia ...by the way khatib lost 15KG now so the Leb Nt is much better now with khatib returning to his old level
