Another great game by John Wall to lead the rising Wizards against Atlanta. Both teams' starters played well and it was defense that won the 4th as the Hawks were clawing back.
 
John Wall and his Wizards are now 8-8 at .500. Wall's playmaking has improved and Washington is starting to get healthy and build cohesion.
 
Beal returned and saved the night for the Wizards. Beal slipped by a defender and had the winning layup. What was mind boggling was that the Knicks had two timeouts left but they did not call it. Instead, Anthony got the inbound pass, advanced and shot a trey. No luck.
 
The extent of Brad Beal's knee setback from last night's loss against Minnesota will be known today. Beal has been back for two weeks and now this. Very disappointing.
 

Moving over, I like how Vesely has re-invented himself this season for the Wiz kids. A defensive aggressor in the perimeter and a running man for heaves such as that.
 
Wizards lead already by 30 against the Miami HEAT and the 2nd quarter is still young. Wall and Beal are off to a good first half while Trevor Booker in 10 minutes, has 10 points and a number of rebounds.

First quarter, HEAT really felt the Wizards' advantage of height and heft.
 
When USA Basketball announced their training roster, Wall was a glaring omission; because of the depth at point guard that has Chris Paul, Deron Williams and Derrick Rose. Teammate Brad Beal was on the roster. Wall has been on the 2012 Team USA select and last year's Vegas showcase.

John Wall looked motivated tonight. Go ahead trey as the Wizards upset the Golden State Warriors. Also, Brad Beal showed that he can step up against premiere teams.

Also this chase down swat against Stephen Curry.

Just as Nene Hilario was having a good season, a knee injury will set him back for six weeks. This has to dent Washington's playoff push. Kevin Seraphin and Trevor Booker should share the burden.
 
Marcin Gortat wants some scuffling allowed in the NBA:

I would say I would loosen up a little bit the rules about the fighting fines. That’s what I would loosen up. During the game. Quick, 15-20 seconds, throw few punches, then referees jump in and break this thing up. I think the game … these two guys, they resolved their problem. They’re both suspended and they’re leaving. But end of the day, they fix the problem between each other, fans are super excited, and I think that would be a pretty cool idea
