The New York Knicks Thread.

Various stories posted on the web suggests that the back of Amare Stoudemire is not yet fully healed and is a major cause of concern wherein Stoudemire is heading into the second year of his five year contract with the Knicks.

Thanks man you just ruined my day...:( Seriously can the Knicks catch a break???

If there had been no lockout, Stoudemire would be limited since training camp is just three weeks away. A lockout does allow Stoudemire to rest and he should seek treatment and rehab for his back.

Interesting read in the New York Daily News where former Knicks Head coach Isiah Thomas played a vital role on the signing of Stoudemire, the Anthony acquisition and now, Thomas is said to be working on bringing New Orleans Hornets star Chris Paul to the Knicks.

Isiah Thomas is cursed...

No ultimate good will come of Isiah Thomas involvement with the KNICKS. This is a powder keg packed with cases nitro-glycerin, TNT and dynamite all in the bed of a monster truck that's headed off the deepest end of the Grand Canyon. This situation is no bueno.

Here is a question From the page:

So Happy Together
Do you think Isiah Thomas still has influence on the Knicks personnel?

A Clearly, this is the latest example and anyone who doesn't see that is foolish.

B No, I believe that Dolan and Isiah have parted ways for good

C The Knicks situation is so screwed up I don't know what to think.

I'd like to see what everyone's answer on this question.:)

None of the answers fits my taste so I made up one:

D None of the Above

In my opinion, Thomas works for the Knicks as an affiliate or a liaison on which he has limited or no influence to the Knicks. Thomas just obeys orders. I would like to prefer it that way.

Carmelo Anthony revealed that he had simultaneous surgeries on his knee and elbow last May.

Anthony undergone arthroscopic surgery on his left knee and an elbow procedure to treat a condition known as chronic bursitis.

With the ongoing labor negotiations, the so called "Carmelo Anthony Rule" that is being proposed to be integrated into the Collective Bargaining Agreement's Player Trade Section has irked Anthony.

The so called Carmelo Anthony Rule would prevent players from signing Bird rights extensions with teams that acquired them via trade after the July 1 in advance of their final season under contract.

Still, it does not really apply to Anthony wherein Carmelo have not signed any extension with the Knicks and is just signed for the 2011-2012 season.

This provision would prevent teams from hoarding star talents via trade acquisition and using the Bird Rights to go over the threshold to keep that player locked up via a succeeding contract.

Smart move I'm a Knicks, Yankees, Giants fan BUT I root for the small markets too. I'd hate to see a young team like the OKC Thunder get broken up. I'd like to see teams like Memphis, Indiana, Milwaukee make strong playoff runs in the future. Some of the best fans come from small markets.

Good to know. I am not a New York Knicks fan but I do respect what the 70's, 80's and 90's Knicks exploits. In the family, my father is a die hard New York Knicks fan.

He loved the 70's Knicks during his adolescence. The 80's Knicks were also a favorite of his, especially Bernard King. 90's was the year of heartbreaks for my father as Patrick Ewing stumbled a lot after a promising season.

The last time my father cheered for the Knicks was during the 1999 NBA Finals where the San Antonio Spurs put in the funeral of the Knicks' era.

Down the line, my father is starting to watch Knicks games again but is disappointed on how they are constructing the Knicks. I can't blame him though, he has seen the Good Old Days and Good Ol' Fashion construction of contenders.

On small market teams, being a fan of a small market team, I think there will always be income gaps as take for example, the Lakers TV Deals net worth equals our 14 years of gross rates.

We have not been successful as of late. Hopefully, a better economic model of profit sharing as well as good management in behalf of the small market teams will help ease the disparity.

Chauncy Billups said in an interview in ESPN Radio that he is willing to sit out the 2011-2012 NBA Season to fight for the NBPA's principles.

Billups said that many veterans felt the same.
