The New Orleans Pelicans

I have never seen a shot-blocker with such agility like what Davis has.

That quick feet and reflex must be from playing guard as he was growing up and that wingspan is a nice bonus from his overall coordination.

With a few more games left for the Pelicans, this is a stellar year for Anthony Davis and he still has more room to grow. Could already be the best two-way power forward in the NBA. Aside from that, Anthony Morrow quietly thrived for this team as a shooter with the health status of Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans' unpredictable fg% out of the paint. Moving over, injuries hurt this team once again.

Monster game by Anthony Davis: 40 points, 21 rebounds alongside 3 blocks. Great game between the Celtics and Pelicans.

What an amazing comeback by the Pelicans. Down more than 30 points, Tyreke Evans wreaked havoc in the perimeter to lead an all out rally. Season high 33 points + 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the former Kings guard. Downside? 7 TOs. That's the Evans we used to have in Sacramento. He will disappear and struggle with his shooting clip on stretches but will lift those up in stretches too.

This game reminds me of Evans leading the Kings back to win against the Chicago Bulls when we were down by 30.

Anthony Davis won't play the final four games of the Pelicans to rehabilitate his lower back. He has really improved his offense this season. The way he creates space between him and his defender, going for a shot has been one of his "go to" weapon. New Orleans next season will be better and will most likely decide on Eric Gordon.

Evans perhaps his best individual production output of his career so far. Not really ideal for team play. He still needs to learn on how to integrate with the rest of the Pelicans next season.

Pelicans acquire Omer Asik from the Houston Rockets for a first round pick next year.

Pelicans will sign Jimmer Fredette to a 1 year deal according to NOLA. This signing means, Fredette gets reunited with former Sacramento teammate, Tyreke Evans.

There is a real question to me at this point whether or not Tyreke and Jrue can play together. If they can't, I guarantee you it's Tyreke that gets traded.

Also, with adding Fredette, you have to think they would hopefully finally get rid of Austin Rivers (who I said in 2012 was a dumb pick and a future bust). I love the addition of Asik. Eric Gordon is another guy who really is just creating a logjam in my opinion. Patric Young could be a steal of an undrafted player. He's undersized but he can be an absolute beast if he really wants to be. Darius Walker is another guy who if put in the right situation can really shine. Trading Austin Rivers and/or Eric Gordon would really help him break into some serious minutes.

By the way, Tyreke and the other Philly area players really hold back the flashy stuff when they play in the NBA. I have to laugh when I see players like Rondo and some of the players from California always trying to show off their streetball game in NBA games. I guarantee you they wouldn't last very long in a pick up game with the Philly players who have played in the NBA or even just the NCAA or NBDL. Tyreke, Dion Waiters... all of those dudes would bust so many players' asses it's not even funny. If you don't believe me watch clips of the Philly area summer league games. Hell, Team Philly put the whooping on that "Team DC" that somehow included LeBron and Chris Paul during the lockout, and that wasn't including some of our best players. Never doubt Philly players.

That's a real shame. He seemed like he was finally coming back into his own again. On the plus side, there's more minutes for some of the other guys now though.

Pelicans sign Dante Cunningham. Let's hope Cunningham turns his career around with this chance. History of brushes with the law and his short indictment has put his career at stake.

Without Davis, Ajinca proved to be effective in emulating Davis' role of an active screener leading to scoring opportunities. That he did and also provided defense. Tyreke Evans lead the Pelicans rally in the 4th, capping it off with a game winning layup.

Having to work overnight, I watched this game. It was more like Raptors losing it, but Ajinca and Evans played well in the last 4-5 mins, and brought Pelikans from -11 to +2 in last secs... Asik did quite crucial contribution but none recorded in stat sheet (great box-outs for Evans' lay-ups and last rebound deflection that brought the ball to Pelikans)...

He seems to be playing his own game alone, with no emotional interaction with others, it's weird... I think he's not happy, and is just being professional...

Jrue Holiday out 3-4 weeks after being found with a stress reaction on his right leg. Tyreke Evans and Nate Wolters will continue manning up the PG spot. Fredette is the unused shooting guard.

Davis hits the go-ahead freethrow and comes up with a steal to win the game for the Pelicans.

Davis tonight: Davis: 28 Pts, 10 Reb, 5 Stl, 1 Blk

Tyreke Evans: 24pts & 12asts
