The Nets will do anything for you to come to their games

"The New Jersey Nets are struggling. They have the league's worst record at 6-53. Because of that, they're last in attendance.

To combat this they've tried a few bizarre promotions over the years. First, they gave away tickets to unemployed workers, and also gave them career advice. Then, if you bought a 10-game ticket plan you got a jersey that featured not just a Net, but also an opposing player.

This Friday, the Nets will unleash another in their long line of minor league-esque promos:

Their latest promotion will be unveiled Friday, when the Nets play the Orlando Magic. New Jersey residents 18 or older who attend the game will get a coupon that they can redeem at a Roni Deutch Tax Center to get their state income tax done free.

No one likes doing their taxes, but is it worth having to go to a Nets game? At just a $29 value, I'm not so sure.

But you have to admire the gumption of Roni Deutch, the eponymous tax attorney offering the promotion. She says, "The hallmark of a strong company is one that aligns with young companies. I'm a betting woman, and I think the Nets are going to win a championship this decade."

Probably not, but she's not the first to make such a proclamation".

Very innovative idea by the Nets organization :p.
The thing is that if you're really a hardcore Nets fan would you rather pay money and see your team lose or would you rather work on your taxes :D

Pathetic... Only in USA - what next? You start to pay for people to watch your games?

Why pathetic? Funny maybe. At least the Nets are trying to sell the tickets, respecting the job they do, no matter how badly they fail to execute it. (Unlike some other clubs, such as the ones in Turkey, who give tickets away for free to certain fan groups or to random people. Well, they even pay those people to come to the games. I have a feeling this doesn't happen in TBL only.)

The only reason to see the Nets at the moment is to watch the other team, still on pace for the worst ever, so I can't fault them for some of these promos. Maybe they should go the semi pro route...

It's pretty pathetic if they're only willing to do the federal taxes. But if they're willing to do federal and state, it's pretty awesome.

No no no you misunderstood me, my friends :D
If someone doing taxes for you - it is good, but the whole idea of luring people to the game by offering them gifts is pathetic :D

BTW where can I find and read all the information of trading and company establishment rules and laws in USA. Will be very thankful

i wouldnt mind going to a game for the nets on 1 condition if they pay me a ticket from Lebanon in addition to accomodation and eating expenses for a month :p

Even if they make it just for the weekend, i will go too :D

Seriously, if its free I'll take the opportunity to watch a Nets game then get autographs of Yi, Lee and Lopez. Wait for atleast 1 or 2 games left for the Nets and maybe they'll let people in for free.

Thats something straight from the ABA. They should force the players to have afro hairstyle and the coach to wear similar suits:
