1. Kobe Bryant (24.8 mln., „Lakers“)
2. Rashard Lewis (20,5 mln., „Magic“)
3. Kevin Garnett (18,8 mln., „Celtics“)
4. Tim Duncan (18,7 mln., „Spurs“)
5. Michael Redd (18,3 mln., „Bucks“)
6. Pau Gasol (17,8 mln., „Lakers“)
7. Andrei Kirilenko (17,8 mln., „Jazz“)
8. Gilbert Arenas (17,7 mln., „Wizards“)
9. Yao Ming (17,7 mln., „Rockets“)
10. Zach Randolph (17,3 mln., „Grizzlies“)

Hoopshype and Forbes numbers doesn't add up, but we can see whose agents are great negotiators.

Most of the players in this list don't deserve to earn this kind of moneys.

Absolutely not. The only two who you can kind of justify are Kobe and Pau....and maybe Yao, because in retrospect, he was the best center before injuries limited his minutes. And Duncan.

I'd say Garnett earns his money when he's healthy, but yeah some of these are laughable.

I don't think any of these players deserve this type of money.

Back in the days in the 1980s etc when it was the "Golden Era" of the NBA and basketball, the stars back then would never be paid this type of money.

No one in the world deserves such big money - not even greatest inventors or doctors. These men are playing a simple game - throwing some round object in to the rim... One man is paid 24 millions - this means that more than 25000 people is some poor country are starving.

They bring in money to the franchise. If I knew that I was the reason that a huge company was making a ton of money, I would expect a ton of money as well.

Either way, the only one who I feel is worth the money they're given is Pau. Kobe is good and all, but he's going to start breaking down...He's too old and injury prone to be getting that contract.

I know why they getting this money, it is called monopsony in economics. But think about that - how can a man be allowed to have so many resources that he will never even spent in lifetime, meanwhile somewhere in Africa children are starving. thats just little philosophy ;]

.
why ? just why ? !!!! the second more paid player !!! for that price they could bring much better players !!!

Exactly!

Eh, good point.

Its called capitalism you greedy commie bastards. JK

I agree the money seems outrageous, but I mean the world isn't fair. The list seems so weird too some of those players are not even worth 3 mil IMO if we are comparing them to Kobe. He may be tossing a ball around, but he tosses the ball better than anyone else. Also, Lets be fair if we didn't watch and we didn't care they wouldn't receive this kind of money. Ultimate Frisbee-A sport no-one cares about is a perfect example(No money in it because no-one gives a damn). So if you want to blame the players for their salaries then you should likely also blame yourselves as well.

Alright how the hell does Rashard lewis be the 2nd highest p[aid player, seriously his agent does magic like no other!

i can see how yao ming injured or not injured can make money, in a sense he is a cash crop for the rockets, especially in the marketing sense.

i just cant see rashard lewis for his skill on the court and his name recognition to be so highly touted.

Hi Comrade, the little philosophy has been presented before in this book:

Yao Ming may be least deserving in a sense because he's really a "part-timer" but yeah he's cash cow in the other sense so...:D

I also don't understand what happened to Rashard Lewis. I think Orlando was REALLY desperate ~3-4 years ago when they lured him from Seattle.

NO TEST you've already have communism in your country before.:p:

Awful book.
