The Chicago Bulls have floated 15 different trade proposals centered around Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings, Orlando Magic, and Philadelphia 76ers , per @KCJHoop

“Zach LaVine’s future isn’t the only trade scenario that has been discussed, even if sources said Karnišovas has floated as many as 15 proposals centered on the two-time All-Star guard to various teams including the Sacramento Kings, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers.”

ESPN Sources: JJ Redick has agreed on a four-year contract to become the next coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. Rob Pelinka offered job this morning and Redick’s started working on a staff to surround himself with experience.

JJ Reddick is officially the LA Lakers coach. I wonder what the the active LakerNation members of IBN think about this. I reeks of Rich Paul - Lebron type of an hire.

I'm interested how Reddick will fare as a head coach. He has very strong opinions about modern basketball and trends. It's almost like having Stephen A Smith, Barkley, Arenas (and other very opinionated analysts) put their money where they're mouth is and coach an actual team.

Unlike the other guys though, I find he has more substance.

Redick and Lebron co-host a podcast called “Mind the Game”. That’s probably where the connection started.

Lebron’s chances of winning another chip is small. Redick is young and it’s his first coaching gig.

Lakers are thinking long-term because of Redick’s inexperience. It would be different had the Lakers took in the recently fired but experienced Monty Williams from the Pistons who was Anthony Davis’s coach at New Orleans for three seasons.

If you're thinking long term, then Rondo is your guy for the Lakers. But then again, maybe not.

Rajon Rondo is a basketball savant and a student of the game as well as a teacher. He chastised the current AAU centric youth basketball culture, and went against the flow to actually lead kids to a more rounded program similar to those in Europe.

He probably is more qualified as coach than Reddick. But Rajon's assholey attitude and strong personality might not mesh with Lebron's psyche and agenda. Anyway, Kobe once said he liked Rondo because they have the same mentality.

BBIQ and actual-game ability has not really translated well into coaching. A lot of former elite players have failed in coaching. A factor could be things that they are able to do easily/naturally is not common for everyone else.

Most elite coaches are either coaching lifers who never sniffed the nba or nba role players. They're in the bench more and are able to observe/absorb the team dynamic from a different perspective (bird's eye view rather than inside the court).

But of course there are rare exceptions.

There it is, no picks: https://x.com/AndrewKSchlecht/status/1803908262279971030?t=29IoxFbPmb2LugXFPdDZDQ&s=19

Trading one of the best defenders in the NBA for just a guy who can't shoot or defend (not to mention his previous issue with a minor) is bad business.

Guy was unplayable last playoffs, and this was just a 1-for-1 swap without any picks? Unbelievable.

you will love giddey but then again his shooting woes is the concern.. though i keep saying he improved on that part but not we had hope for so far..

i guess i need to buy bulls jersey for giddey.

He was unplayable last playoffs because of it. Well, he turns 22 this year, so I guess it won't cap the potential. He'll play next to Coby and Ayo, so there. I had just hoped for at least one pick next to Giddey.

Either way, hope it helps the tank.

It's interesting how Giddey is unplayable because of poor shooting (47% FG, 33%3PT, 80%FT last season). Those numbers locally would be a good shooter. For context, Alapag for his career: 37%, 36%, 80%).

Any thoughts on why bad shooting is not taken advantage of more locally?

He shot 35% last playoffs. He just shot 3-16 against the Mavs, and that coupled with his poor defense rendered him unplayable that series, got only 16.1 MPG.

Apologies for slandering him for his shooting, then.

There are rumors that the Lakers are trying to trade for a top 5 pick.

They are currently slated to pick at the 17th. There is a prospect that they workout, Ron Holland, that is not within the range of their current draft slot.

They should try to get him instead of emptying their cupboard of assets trying to get a hail mary trade on the likes of Dejounte, Trae, or Donovan Mitchell etc.

Getting Holland is more realistic and longterm move approach since AD will be needing a young coStar for the future. Guy can be their prototypical wing ala Jalen Brown if developed properly.

Players have shooting slumps, that's why season averages are more useful. (His career postseason stats is actually higher: 45/35/87). Having said that, he did have a bad slump in the playoffs, who knows, players never talk about injuries especially that deep in the playoffs.

But, I'm genuinely curious as to why bad shooting in the pba is not taken advantage of and is not a career-killer.

Hey, welcome back!

Hope the Bulls will be the ones to get Holland, though.

Thank you brooo hahaha, no Gilas season and then my Lakers got eliminated that's why haha.

Holland to Bulls would be nice as well, Idk bro why Chicago's GM and owner only came to senses that it's time to rebuild only this time?

There are rumors that Zo Ball would be a buyout candidate now that Giddey is already on their team.

I want to know your opinion on why Zaccharie Risacher is rated higher than Holland in the mocks? Eye test wise, I think Holland will be much more effective immediately in the NBA, and if he develops his shooting???? Lawwwdddddd. No reason this kid is not on the top 5 picks this coming draft.
