Yes, bashing is quite likely :D

I absolutely loved Delicatessen. One of my favs. I'm surprised you didn't like the style there, you being a Alien-3 fan because of its atmosphere.
Amelie was good, and City of Lost Children was alright, I might even agree with you on that. Micmacs was terrible. Really disappointing in both story and in style. Alien: Resurrection was nothing like the previous movies of the series, but ok.

Haven't seen his other movies.

My humble opinions, of course.

i kinda likes delicatessen since it was the first i watched a long time ago, but upon watching the other movies i realised the director (whose spelling is too complicated right now for me:p) has an obsession with red/green and with the same type of characters. i'm feeling like every one of his movies are one and the same. Alien 3 is another story:D (directed by fincher anyway)

Now you've told us too much!

Didn't watch the movie. But now I've started it on youtube (there are seven 13 minute parts). Grabbed my attention...

@robbe: is that Tim Robbins in your #4?
Good luck with that, I'm still waiting my guess to be considered.
yeah. The best comedy ever. I simply missed prtzn's post because of being occupied with mine :D
Oh, you're such a narcissist.:p :)
When Peter Sellers' died, hell was a place to be.

As for Jean-Pierre Jeunet, I really liked ˝Amélie˝ and ˝Un long dimanche de fiançailles˝, but unfortunately can't say the same for ˝The City of Lost Children˝ (maybe it's because I watched it long time ago and I wasn't intellectually ready for it, I don't know). Haven't watched Delicatessen, is it any good?

Haha.

I didn't like Delicatessen as much as ˝The City of Lost Children˝. It was just OK. More of a situation comedy.
I watched the latter with a friend, and we stopped the movie a lot, also because I read the subs too slowly, but mainly because there where some cool details that only one of us noticed and wanted to show it to the other one. And I don't remember them right now if you ask me.
It's not as much about the plot but the exclusionary world and atmosphere that the movie manage to transfer.
And I don't think I would appreciate this kind of movie if I watched it several years earlier.
Amélie is totally different... nothing in common.
