The Houston Rockets Thread

As much as NBA pace fits him, he is more of a 6'3 SG than a PG really, a tweener one way or another. He might be okay in some of the teams, even if he's done if/when posted up by some taller SG / standard SF's in the league, but I wouldn't really bet on Houston here, a running, fast paced team would suit him much more than the Rockets imho.
If anyone needs a Spanish PG and an upgrade on Beverly that's no other than Sergio Rodriguez, I'd pick him over Rubio in an second, if he wanted to go back to NBA, he didn't get much oppurtunity with.... I believe Blazers iirc.

Same with the Kings. We had Rodriguez back in 2009-2010 as a backup to Udrih. Paul Westphal greatly deferred to Evans and Martin taking shots alternately. Udrih can run a team but Westphal had orders to give Tyreke possessions as much as possible.

Everyone hates these alternate jerseys from the Rockets.

The black jersey set is not so bad but felt wanting. The straight V-Cut towards the sternum is unflattering. While the white and the red ones are just uninspired. They went minimalist but the type font of Clutch City is straight out ugly in terms of hard selling the embed cast. Could have used a more accent.

Dwight Howard's shirt size is left little to the imagination and it looks like he has flabbing of excess fat. Too tight and too fit is bad.

The No sleeve jerseys are getting old. The Short sleeve jerseys look so much better. The Short sleeve is the future.

Perhaps you are right. Say, do you know if Euroleague teams will also wear short sleeved jerseys in the future or are there short sleeved jerseys now in Euroleage teams? Thanks in advance.

No.There isn't a single team that might have a short sleeved jersey in the Euroleague this year :( And I don't think we will see it in the near future.Europe likes to stay old fashioned . I like how NBA teams try everything. This might be a money difference that NBA and European teams have but every year NBA clothing and jerseys look amazing. I am actually on the NBA store website right now checking out some stuff.

Thanks for the info!

NBA teams will also be featuring sponsor patches in the jerseys someday. I also like the way on how Euroleague is marketing itself internationally. This year, PAOK invested two games in China vs local clubs and the Maccabi and Milan game went better in the 4th. A lot of potential for Europe to be a global brand just like the NBA.

Yes we are right behind you I believe Euroleague is slowly closing that huge gap against NBA. But still far to go. Again these jerseys rock.

Tremendous energy shown by KJ McDaniels tonight and it seems the Rockets will give him more freedom in the season. All they need him to do is let him loose and he'll produce hustle numbers. Also, Clint Capela has shown great hustle.

ADD NOW James Harden of the Houston Rockets to the growing list of adidas basketball ambassadors. The three-time All-Star guard recently formalized a long-term deal to don the iconic three stripes that is expected to change the game. READ MORE

Kevin McHale fired over the Rockets failure to launch early in this season.

I am a bit surprised it happened that early. The season just started  Not fair on McHale

Same here and I keep reading articles and news that somehow, the team stopped listening to him days before his eventual firing.

I really think it's only a matter of time until they trade Lawson. I just don't see how him, Harden, and Dwight can coexist on offense when all three need the ball in their hands so much. Firing McHale seems like scapegoating him for a culture problem in my opinion.

Harden is one problem, he plays on offensive end..and doesnt play at all in defensive end.
I take Jimmy J Butler over him.

Seeing Howard and Drummond battle is a reflection of how times have changed. Dwight is not the same player just like his 2009 form where he can go 20-20. Drummond has that mantle now. Although they share the common weakness, which is the free-throw shooting. Hack a Drummond did not work tonight but the Pistons are still up by 10 with 2 minutes remaining in the game.

I never expected this, I thought they were missing a good PG and with Lawson they were ready. But it seems no chemistry or something. Maybe build a team around Harden, not with to many other superstars like Howard but with hard workers around Harden.

Houston trades for Josh Smith. He fits them perfectly. This move works for both parties imo.

Question is who are they going to get rid of? Terrence Jones? Motirjunas? I know they won't trade Capela or Harrell. That would just be dumb, but so is drafting players you don't play.
