And I still don't get where do you actually see the problem... maybe you confused IBN forums with white supremacy forums?

This is what I mean about you

I was talking about the problem of why out of 55 million French white people there are no basketball stars. Are Parker, Diaw, Pietrus, Gilabal white, Mr. Vladimir?
What is the problem with that? Parker, Diaw, Pietrus, Gelabale etc. are French. Not 2nd class French or in any other way different than other Frenchmen or whatever you're hinting at (I seriously don't know). Just French. Like Cyril Julian, Laurent Blanc and Mr.Sarkozy. What exactly is the problem with those basketball players not being white?

and if they were second generation of Italian or Polish migrants, nothing? The matter is social, not racial or related to anything with skin...

Okay if you don't see any problems then I'm happy for you and there is no argument anymore, it's your own country.

I don't think that would be a good choice, a good player doesn't mean a good coach, they should look for someone with experience.

Has Rigaudeau coached any relevant team? I'm not aware of it, I completely lost track of him since he retired.

Yeppers.
Used to coach the NT between 93 & 95 (players like rigaudeau, bilba, ostrowski, gadou's, forte etc.) that finished 8th at the euro. He dismissed after that competition to return to coaching pau-orthez.
He was the coach of our U20 NT which finished the competition at the 9th rank last year.

a link (in french, sorry) where you can see his resume.

He never coached any player of the current generation though i expect him to integrate a few young players (de colo being one, prolly a few others (moerman?)). He also stated that "nba was the summum" knowing that bergeaud was praising Euroleague, so i expect him to recall most of the nba players (aka no more the gelabale/mp versus ferchaud & sangaré crap move).

If we find a hard qualification group, it might be tough.
Anyway, if we get to reach next euro, it's still gonna be a pain since some NBA'rs won't participate in the qualification round & it's not obvious that the team chemistry would work (results (and manner...) of turkey during last euro are kinda scary for that purpose).

People here are pretty disappointed as many expected radical changes but we got to hope that it will work.

Anyways, it's not like we had a coach standing out for the NT coach position. All the top coaches of ProA are Bergeaud level at best, so replacing Bergeaud by one of them would have changed much. (well, they probably dislike the NBA less than him, so we would have more NBAers without any impact in the NBA in the team).
Rigaudeau is nice and all, but he has never coached before.
Gomez seems a reasonable choice to me, but I would have liked more a foreign coach with good experience in the EL and no hate for the NBA.

Gomez said he would fly to the USA in April to talk to Diaw and Parker to try to convince them to not leave the team. I wonder if he can do that. I am not certain they will give much credit to a man who coached only 2 games (of Pro B) since they turned pros.

what's wrong with France NT being black??? Its just like the US team and also France football team with Henry. Racists...

Gomez will travel to Greece to watch Diarra play for PAOK. He is one of the candidates for the NT.

Diarra always performed well with NT, especially during last World Chalmpionships, where he was unscooted by most teams^^ because he arrived at last moment to take tony Parker's place.

He's quite all right from three, even if not a great shooter. I hope he will come to help the team qualify, and get his place back.

Michel Gomez will be this weekend in Spain watching the Valladolid-Estudiantes game in order to see Gomis, Morandais and Pietrus.

Maybe a possible list of interesting players could be right now:

Point Guard

Parker - San antonio - 1.83 - 27
Pellin - Roanne - 1.70 - 20
Jeanneau - Lyon - 1.85 - 29
Sangare - Lyon - 1.93 - 24
Bokolo - Le mans - 1.91 - 22

Shooting Guard

Gomis - Valadolid - 1.80 - 29
Diarra - PAOK - 2.00- 27
Mbaye - Dijon - 1.89 - 19
Melody - Vichy - 1.84 - 30

Shooting Forward

Diaw - Phoenix - 2.03 - 25
Pietrus - Golden State - 25 - 1.98
Kirksay - Unics - 28 - 1.99
Diawara - Denver - 25 - 2.00
Batum - Le Mans - 2.04 - 19
Gelabale - Seattle - 24 - 2.01
Toure - Cantu - 2.03 - 26
Morandais - Estudiantes - 29- 1.98
Giffa - Strasbourg - 1.97 - 30

Power Forward

Moiso - Joventut - 2.08 - 29
Sy - AEK - 2.02 - 27
Pietrus - Estudiantes - 27 -2.02
Yango - Teramo - 2.02 - 25
Mahinmi - San Antonio - 2.06 - 21
Samnick - Nancy - 2.03 28
Stephen Brun - Gravelines - 2.02 - 27

Center

Turiaf - Los Angeles - 2.08 - 24
Weis - Bilbao - 2.17 - 30
Julian - Nancy - 2.05 - 33
Petro - Seattle - 2.14 - 21
Badiane - Roanne - 2.06 - 27
Masingue - Hyeres - 2.05 - 31
Traore - Le Havre - 2.05 - 23
Koffi - Le Mans - 2.07 - 24

Interesting list. Some minor fixes though :

Among the young prospects that gonna have a chance in the NT very soon, de colo will proly be tried.

Masingue retired from NT so, like julian & others, we won't see him back.

We won't see parker & diaw at least till next euro if france makes it through the qualification round. Something that prolly can be extended to all nba players (depending on the situation of their teams though (PO, will of their board, transfers & so on).

One guy we would like to see again is moiso for sure. He seems to be ready to play basket at last, hopefully this will also concern the NT.

Also, sy is a sf, giffa a pf, turiaf would play 5/4 in nt as always, and we can forget brun, at least i hope since he's just not international games material, just like melody.

We might have some newcomers anyway during next two years, from noah that will prolly be invited to participate (even though he clearly said his priority was NBA for now (understandable, it's not like he is doing an easy rookie year)) to moerman (young pf from roanne that was in french 2nd league this year) passing by jackson (prolly france best prospect as long as he develops accordingly (he has the shoot, he's lacking basketball IQ though)) & couple more that might reveal here or in europe (which was the case for morandais for instance) tchicamboud, or even marquis (in his case it would be a return) & zianveni

So basically, it's not a surprise to see gomez in spain as the core of the next NT will prolly contain the french players that are playing in the ACB (minus risacher who retired quite a long time ago).

¡ Vamos, puto francia !

Thx a lot for the corrections, they are really appreciated :)

I heard something about Julian retiring from the NT but i wasnt sure. I really had no idea that Masingue retired too.
Yeah i supose the NBA'ers (or t least the most importat ones) wont go again with the NT till the next championship, but as, at the end, they will probably be there, thats why i put them on the list too.
Unforgivavble mistake for me forgetting about Noah, even if he right now is more focused in NBA, he has to be taken into consideration.
I still dont know the rest of the prospects u have mentioned, but its good to hear about them in order to keep an eye on them.

Im sorry but your last sentence was a little .. disconcerting :D
