Head coach Larry Drew revealed that the Atlanta Hawks will be playing more uptempo this season and will look to push the pace of the game into fast breaks. Atlanta is a good rebounding team with scorers in the wings from last season. This season, the Hawks still have the wing-scoring from last year and a more uptempo attack will help their scoring woes as a team.

Last season, the Hawks are ranked 11th out of 15th in transition points in which is mind boggling given that they had Josh Smith and Joe Johnson in the wings. This season, expect Jeff Teague to lead the much more pressurized offense on which Teague's athleticism and distributing skills are ideal for the break. Teague could help Johnson, Williams, McGrady and Smith up their scoring during the break.

The Hawks currently have the mis-direction plays on their half-court sets and the integration of the uptempo attack will help up the team's scoring. That too will make the team much more exciting with the viewership.

ATL 100 MIA 92

They are just not normal! After so much games every day, they defeat Chicago in overtime, and then routinely Washington Wizards!I'd like them to go as far as they can in the PO,except,of course,if they meet Boston. :)

With the loss of Al Horford, the Atlanta Hawks are exploring options via the free agents list for centers. It is also reported that the Hawks are scouting the D-League ranks for a possible call up.

Currently, the Hawks have veteran Jason Collins as the only legitimate center.

MIN 91 ATL 93

Jeff Teague and Joe Johnson rose to the challenge by combining for 45 points. Teague had 20 points while Johnson managed 25 points.

From the bench, Willie Green and Ivan Johnson each had 10 points.

TOR 84 ATL 93

The duo of Josh Smith and Joe Johnson lifted the Hawks tonight. Smith scored a season high 28 points and hauled down 15 rebounds. Joe Johnson was on target with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.

One of the legitime candidates for the title!Amazing team. And they started to get my sympathies, they didn't show off like Miami Heat, but they worked hard, quiet, and found a good balanced team for this season.Green,Horford,Johnsons,McGrady,Sloan,Williams...Maybe the 54-years of waiting for the title would come to an end. :)

Minus Al Horford, Joe Johnson and Josh Smith responded by picking up the slack for the team. Both are back as the dynamic duo of the Hawks.

Some piece of good news is that Kirk Hinrich is set to return this road trip. Hinrich did not play in the win against the Milwaukee Bucks, but is expected to suite up for the rest of the trip.
