If Stephon Marbury is the cancer that reporters write about, I think Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni are doing the right thing by sitting him on the bench. The poor guy has had public fights with almost all of his coaches since he started in the NBA. If he's going to be a baby, let him be a baby on the bench.

The only person to blame concerning this situation is Stephon Marbury himself. The guy can't play on a team and always clashes with his coaches and teammates.

What happen to this guy? He is an awesome player but what went wrong to him? Did he have an attitude problem?
He was never an awesome player... on maybe an awesome prospect, based on his first NBA years with Garnett. But then his stupidity come into play and he request a trade, which killed his career.
But he has to be the worst player in NBA out of the group which averaged 20 pts/10 assists.

New York doing okay at the moment, which is another proof that not only you don't need Marbury to win, but even more - you need him not playing to win!!!

wait... i don't understand the BIG Story of his stupidity...
why did he arrive in that kind of attitude?
did garnet and him had a GAP?
he was traded to SUNS, what happen there?
and then he was traded to NJ Nets? What happen there also...
and then to NYK... This guy maybe do have mind problem.

Wait, what did Marbury done to get the ire of the new coach?.
Is he being punish because of the past issue, if this is the case then the new coach is wrong. From what I've read Marbury always gets the blame when his team is struggling because he's not a real superstar like Jordan and the others are, he does'nt command respect from the coaches, in turn Marbury resented them. Marbury has'nt done anything as far as this present situation in New York is concerned.

If he is the worst player in that group, at least he belong to an elite club. How many players in that club has won championship ? 99% of them have not won anything, so marbury is not different from them. How can you say he is the worst.

Yes New York is doing OK at the moment, but the season is still young and don't judge too soon.

Mike D'antoni feels that Marbury's troubled history will be a bad example to a rebuilding team and as far as Marbury's situation, it is a fact that he was once NJN's franchise player and once also was NY's franchise player, sadly, you get the blame for your team's struggles and their failures. It's that way in the NBA.

Good news is that he can always play in Europe for less which is more probably as far as Euro currency is involved.:)

Stephon Marbury is growing tired of the inactive life. He wants to play basketball and knows a place where the coach loves him, the fans adore him and the players believe in him.

And since Mike D'Antoni has buried Marbury on the Knicks bench, the veteran point guard said Thursday that he might train with the boy's basketball team at Brooklyn's Abraham Lincoln High School to maintain his conditioning and keep his game sharp.

"I think I'm going to start practicing with my high school team," Marbury said after practice Thursday in Greenburgh. "Seriously. I've already called the coach to see if I can run up and down with the guys and at the same time help teach the younger guys the NBA game."
Priceless.
