Soviet songs

I know we have a lot of Eastern Europeans here, I'm curious if we grew up listening to the same songs, LOL

Also everyone in China knows the Italian song "Bella Ciao" from a Communist-era Yugoslav movie "Bridge (Most)" -- at a time when China distanced itself from USSR and embraced the SFRY culture, hehe

These r some beautiful songs u found. Thou I am young and can't remember them, but know them. I always loved Russian songs, from the "big five" classical composers to the now a days.

Here is my contribution to this topic, thou it is not old...

It's not really Soviet but it's Russian folk song. :D

Legendary entrance song for those who watch MMA.

It seems there's a Chinese version of this song as well :D
Well all the songs I posted (and probably at least 20 more) have Chinese versions. We don't sing in Russian! :)

Actually not only am I too young for those songs, I believe even my parents were too young considering China severed relationships with CCCP in 1960 or so. But good songs never die, it's so true, I know the songs because they got played over and over again in China.

It's a bit off topic, but here is a pair tribute songs dedicated to Tito (President of communist Yugoslavia)

this one is sung by a couple of psychedelic North Korean girls:

The North Korean kids are pretty cute.

BTW you Serbians know this ex-Yu movie "Most"? Almost everybody in China knows it, and I actually watched it 2 years ago on a Chinese TV, hehe... I got to say it's one of the best WWII movies I've seen though. "Valter brani Sarajevo" is also famous but I forgot the plot...

Dear Comrades, I've got a couple of songs for you (* Yea, I'm that bored :p )

I watched 'Most' a long time ago, so as 'Valter' (and TBH, I have a blur memory of their plot as well)... But, I was always stunned by the fact that Krvavac's movies were so popular in China. Red connection I would say:D.
Тёмная ночь...
What a great song! I loved Serbian cover, too (named 'Tamna je noć')...

I know that this thread is about Soviet songs, but some of you posted other ones, so will I:). I'm simply stunned by this video of North Korean kindergartners. Amazing!

Just found out the thread  I was born in the end of Soviet era, of course I know those songs, but what I remember best from last years of Soviet Union regarding music, was 1st Soviet Pop/Eurodisco (or how to call it) group - Laskovyj Maj. FFS when I was a kid their music was everywhere and everyone was more or less crazy about it all around the country. Thta group was so f8cking popular, that managed to have 8 (!!!) or smth shows at the same day in different cities (all sold-out), of course that was possible cause after they gained popularity, producers made a smart move and created clones of the original group, but very little people new about it due lack of information...

This was probably their biggest hit

Of course, China hated Khrushchev so they began to move closer to Tito.

Billy Bounce, were Soviet songs popular in Israel as well?

Since a lot of North Korean songs were posted in this thread, here's another one sung by an American. It's named "No Motherland without You, Comrade Kim Jong-Il", not at all bad hahaha
