Ha Seung Jin is very superstitious. On a flight towards every major tournaments, Ha wears white for good luck. Same with pictorials.

Ha once said that White favors the Yang forces which is good tidings for luck and victory.

Oh! Thanks for the info. :)

The Koreans will rely heavily on their motion offense consisting of Inside-Outside plays as well as several instances of letting Ha Seung Jin go to work with rotating shooters at the fold. Ha is complemented at the front court with Kim Joo-Sung and Oh-Sakeun for added potency on their inside game.

This edition of the National team does not rely heavily on one or three key players, it is a system utilizing their shooting as well as the inside game.

Moon Ta Jong was naturalized to be fill in the void of a versatile wing-men that they have badly lacked since their inception. Moon fits the team well with his overall versatility, able to play within the team offense given his passing and offensive awareness. Moon can also create his own shot on the triple threat and that is his main strength.

Moon also adds a rebounding and perimeter defense to the team.

It will not be easy for Lebanon but Lebanon can beat South Korea. Bring a very physical game to harass Yang and Kang at the back-court with either a 3/4 press or a half-court press. In offense, make Ha work defensively by making him come out of the paint and into the top of the key with an orthodox screen or a turnout screen in repetition. This will wear him down and be less of a threat on the offense.

Thanks, very highly appreciated, you're a great analyser, i couldnt ask for anything better:D

I am undeserving of your praise. I am still quite a newbie but I am learning the science of the game. I am sure your national coach knows more and my observations are quite redundant to him.

Lebanon has the tools to beat South Korea. I hope the Lebanese players bring in the physicality.

South Korea is quite lethal when they are making the three point shots as this adds fuel to their offensive motivation; meaning they get into the zone and into their true team form.

But when the South Koreans are not quite confident of their shooting and are just making perimeter shots and hard-fought points, they are not quite the same team.

Well, the thing about this year's team is that all the players play a very physical game, everyone's a fighter, the coach calls them "my 12 barbarians",they're quite agressive on defense and fight for every ball.
another thing to signal is that this team and despite the absence of beshara, freije, fahd, khatib, turk is a sharpshooting team, everyone on court can shoot the 3, even hoskin who averaged 40% from the 3pt line in europe as well as all the other starting players without any exception,Ali kanaan for example (our starting PF),shot about 70% from the arc in a game against Qatar, 2 shots of which were buzzer beaters.
Elie Stephan will also be a daunting opponent, as an example he shot 6/6 3pts in the first quarter in a game against Syria.
Our strong agressive defense will be what brings us victory against the koreans, we have a tall and young lineup ( our shortest PG is about 188 cms),our young team can play the full court press for 40 mins, that's why i fancy our chances against the koreans and think that if we play with heart and dedication we will be the surprise of the tournement.

Thanks for sharing. I now have a slight idea on how the Lebanese plays. Best of luck to your team.

definetly not higher;)
we were beating em with our bench and our U-18 players before our players took the game for granted and just gave them the game so we couldnt complete a 3-0 winning streak against em.
they are definetly strong against fast and sharpshooting teams like korea and the philipines bcs of their athletism and physical game but dont match up so well against teams like Iran and Lebanon.

Maybe you are refering 2 d friendly game vs. qatar in turkey & d 3-nation pocket tournament in Doha just 2 weeks ago where Lebanon won over qatar in turkey & split its two games vs. Qatar in Doha. Well, I'm aware of d results of d games. In lebanon's victory in Turkey, d game was close. Lebanon won its 1st game vs. Qatar in Doha via a buzzer-beating shot, thus, that was also close. But in d rematch, Lebanon was ahead w/ a double-digit margin in d 3rd quarter but went on a melt down to lose by 15 pts. Am I right?

Now lets analyse d games. Lebanon won its 1st 2 games vs. Qatar, but both were close games that could have gone either way. On d 3rd game, Lebanon was on its way 2 victory in d 3rd Q but Qatar rallied to win by 15 pts. I think Qatar's win over Lebanon was more convincing (judging from d wining margin) than Lebanon's victories in 2 previous games vs. qatar where d margins were very close.

Now, U said, and I qoute: "we were beating em with our bench and our U-18 players before our players took the game for granted and just gave them the game so we couldnt complete a 3-0 winning streak against em".

come on man! Who do U think are U fooling in saying that? As if we don't know, Lebanon was enjoying a 6-0 wining run vs. Qatar prior to that game. We know very well that d Lebanese were determined to keep the wining run to 7 straight wins, but it failed. What were U trying 2 insinuate? That Lebanon deliberately lose d game as a gesture of generosity 2 d Qataris. Come on man! We are not that stupid & ignorant 2 believe that biased & prejudiced opinion of yours.

I know everyone will agree w/ me that friendly games or tune up games, could not really be use 2 gauge a team's true potential. Teams would most likely
"pulled back their punches" & will just play lightly 2 avoid being scouted. Its not wise 2 lay down your aces in a tune up game where nothing is realy at stake anyway.

a couple of days ago, Qatar tuned-up w/ Smart Gilas Philippine team & lost 2 d Philippines by 17 pts. (Philippines even led by as much as 25 pts in d 3rd quarter). But d Qataris obviously held back & did not play seriously at all. Their best player Targuy Ngombo wasn't fielded and we Filipinos know that Qatar is a lot stronger if it plays seriously & has Ngombo playing. We are not that foolish to think that Qatar played w/ its full potential & we beat them.

If that statement of yours was not meant to fool anyone, then we know you were fooling no one but yourself. It seems U still haven't woken up from your fantasy my friend.

Let's be realistic.

Hur Jae on numerous occasions stated that the Ha Seung Jin is a key factor for Korea prior to the tournament. Ha's total minutes in the First Round is 15 minutes.

The thing with Ha is that when he is not given exposure, he is often out of sync with the rest of the team and just stands in the post calling for the ball. I think Hur is not risking injuries to Ha but I don't expect Ha to be a switch where utilization is simple as On / Off.

In turn, Hur is risking on court cohesion when he finally fields Ha on crucial games against stronger foes. Ha could alienate himself once again or his teammates, playing without Ha for two games, may also be alienated.

I hope that the practice games of the national team against KBL teams and their sets and instances for Ha Seung Jin can still be tapped for utilization.

How old is Ha Seung Jin?

based on the live stats Haddadi is playing him outside

Under 2 minutes to go before the end of the 1st half. Iran leading 38-30.

Yang Dong-Geun now has 10 points.

any chances of your crush to play? :p

Hur's rotation on important games involves giving heavy minutes to the veterans. Unless YDG and LJS are all out, that is the only time Park Chan Hee will play.

Park's time will come.

nice!

By the way whats with Kim Joo-Sung? 1/5 2 FG? sorry Im just using the live stats.. I'm expecting more of him this game.

Somehow, KJS's shots are not falling as the Iranian's interior zone forces Kim to shoot medium range shots.
