I believe it's the departure date since the game against Purefoods is the day before.
 
playing with sampson, i expect a victory against the kuwaitis and possibly qataris. but the lebanese team should be formidable since they're going to banner two imports.
 
remember that was the Qatari team that thrashed Powerade. They were the only ones who beat Yeng by 15+. I think they're gonna have a pretty hard time. They're gonna lose one, or lose both, IMHO.

I think they can win against Kuwait with a big margin, unless Kuwait pulls off something spectacular. I expect OFWs to be there.

With regards to the Dubai Tourney, they can pull off a big one against the UAE NT but with regards to the other teams, especially the Lebanese and Jordanians, they have Everest to climb. Most of the clubs have 2-3 imports.

unless qatar shows up with a younger bunch of recruits, i dont think its aging lineup should be a problem for our quick, young players. i expect the game to be a close one. we might not win, but we will not lose by a blowout.
but for god's sake, let's win that one. it's just qatar. if we're aiming for something big we might as well defeat qatar at this stage.
besides, it's payback time. wasnt it the qatari nt which dislodged smart gilas from making it to the semis of the fiba asia champions cup last year?

so what does SG have now that they didnt have when qatar beat them last year....for starter, we have sampson and aguilar now. so by all means, let's beat them.

Al-Arabi pretty much has the same line-up as the Qatar NT in Tianjin. The Qatari team that beat Smart Gilas last year had two imports, while we only had CJ Giles. From the looks of it, Qatar doesn't have any major new recruits besides Mustafa ElSayad (6'9).

Qatar has the same weaknesses as usual, dribbling and guard positions. They don't have a real point-guard until now.
 
their tour in the gulf area will give them a good insight of how the asian basketball is.

remember the games they had against qatar in indonesia?.. that was a good game plus the fact that they are a better team than before..

i realy wish i could watch this game online.. perhaps someone with good heart and soul will watch this game together with his handycam. record the game and post it online...hehehe

will they play against lebanon in this tour?
 
Where can we watch this? this is nice. We have the PBA and this. Not a big fan of ABL kasi it's like college games the quality of games is not very good but its a bit fun.

i hope coach T will give greg slaughter longer playing time in the dubai games. banging bodies with hulking centers of middle east teams will give slaughter a much-needed confidence inside the paint. this, i hope, will unleash the "animal" in him. medyo malambot kasi sa poste (trans: he needs viagra) :D

I don't mind them losing all the games just as long as they learn something and get better during the process. If they win however, then I'll take it anytime. This will be a great opportunity for Sampson to be more familiar with Toroman's system. Good luck Smart Gilas!

Thats the idea of this whole Gulf Trip. Its a win-win situation for them. Good move by the SBP in joining this tournament

i dont think there's even an animal in him.. oh yeah, for sure have butterflies in his stomach! and i think that's about it. :o
